Possibly an unpopular opinion but my Ridgid R86211B has been working without issue for the last several months that I've had it. It's removed and installed my wheels multiple times as well as removing and installing all four struts using the 3aH battery. It's currently sitting around 50% battery...
I like my Black and Decker RTX-6. I've had it for a few years now using it to do headlight retrofits. I use it to cut through metal projectors, sheets of aluminum and plastic. It performs better and has outlasted my Dremel brand rotary.
Goodyear makes good hoses.
Milton Type V fittings are pretty popular.
I would suggest the 29 gallon oiled and belt driven compressor over the 21 gallon is noise is a concern to you. That 21 gallon is loud!
Haven't had to use a 16mm on any Japanese car that I've worked on the plenty of Euro cars. I've also needed those super thin service wrenches on Euro cars.
I agree. It's gonna be pretty tough with a six gallon compressor no matter how good it is. A 30 gallon would be more suitable to use with impacts.
Having said that, I would go for the 1/2" version because you can regularly get a coupon to buy it for $80 and it's fairly easy to feather the...
What kind of work do you do that it doesn't get the job done? I do mainly automotive and my old CT4850 has done me well but the NiMH are completely shot now. The only thing I've never tried it on was crank pulleys but everything else I had access to, I was able to remove just fine.
I have Craftsman RP and Snappy fixed and Snappy and HF flex. I never go for my fixed ratchets and often times lose them only to be randomly found while rummaging for other items.
They both have the same TPR comfort grip handles. I have the set in the first link and really like them but wish they came in bigger sizes. That's my only gripe.
I used to work at Discount Tire/America's Tire and currently work at a dealership and we've always used torque wrenches on lug nuts. I use a torque stick followed by a torque wrench and document my work appropriately as customers can be lying SOBs.
+1 more for the Snappy. I bought mine several years ago and have an older model with less features. It still cost about $400. Damn SO guy never sells any lube to go with the tools he sells...
