I would assume they are a quality unit; it's the same as Mac's.

I prefer an oscilloscope for compression testing. Just use an amp clamp for a relative compression reading; if there was a low cylinder just use an ignition sync to find out which cylinder is low. If you wanted to know the actual psi you can use a pressure transducer; plus you can see all 720 degrees of crank rotation.

A pressure transducer is nice. But a compression tester give you psi readings and is cheaper.

You can easily calculate the psi, some programs automatically do it. My transducer cost me $20.00.

Plus you could see back pressure issues, stuck/open/leaking valves, etc; you could also sync the igntion and see if there are any timing issues.
