    Getting electric service

I work for the rural util. company here. Ask them for the tools to calculate load, they should have them. If you were here we'd have a set of questionnaires to run you through and would ask for specific equipment loads for things that are high draw, if you were residential with a pole barn it...

Welcome Glen. Lots of great ideas on here for certain, we would love to see pics of your new garage.

    Air compressor explosion

If you're looking to contain a rupture - good luck. I can tell you that this cinder block wall didn't do it very well though.

    cordless 3/8 impact

I have the Dewalt 20v 3/8 - I love it. If I could have waited and didn't already have the 20v batteries I would get the Milwaukee Fuel hands down. I have some M12 Fuel drills and impact driver and they're fantastic.

I nigh to see your garage tire racks

Wall and floor space are at a premium in my small shop, but I had a small piece of unused space here just above my garage door.

Making the plunge, m12 vs m18

I have both the M12 Fuel Impact and the Dewalt 20V impact, it's pretty rare I pick up the Dewalt now. Brushless is the way to go - if you have lots of big iron anyhow for bigger jobs I would go for the M12 Fuel.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Created a place to keep my utility knives and measuring tape at last. Just a few stud braces and washers for spacers. Does the job.

Picked it up at Home Depot here in Canada - $179 for the kit.

My garage doors are total garbage!

I have the same door, actually it froze to the ground here last week and the opener tripped out (was fine afterwards) Here's a picture of my bracket.

    Milwaukee M12 Fuel cordless impact

Yes, they seem to use mixed red and black for anything brushless "Fuel". I like how they have it setup to keep a bit in the impact and also use the extended battery even though those aren't included. I'm hoping to pick up the 3/8" wrench whenever I can find one that's actually in stock. They had...

    Milwaukee M12 Fuel cordless impact

Just picked her up today and did a little playing around with her, amazing amount of power! As much as my 20V DeWalt compact for sure.

    Baldor 1/4HP Grinder

Yes - drilled and tapped but didn't come with any. From a little research it looks like the bottom line tells me it was manufactured in February of 1950. Pretty cool to think it runs smoother than my newer import grinder - and will outlive it no doubt.

    Baldor 1/4HP Grinder

I might just leave it and give a coat to the stand where there's a bit of rust. Glad I managed to pick this one up, in Canada they seem to be a bit harder to come by.

    Baldor 1/4HP Grinder

Just picked this up from Kijiji, runs smooth and came with the stand. For $75 how'd I do? Looks older, planning to clean it up with a new coat of paint. Any ideas what paint color matches up?

What do you think of this Baldor Grinder?

That's well worth the $50 imo so long as it runs smooth.
