I built mine over 2 years. Excavation and concrete were hired out, but the rest was done by me and my family. Take your time and ask lots of questions along the way. It's the most satisfying thing I've ever done.

Here's a suggestion for your weather strip.... I slid some pipe insulation inside the weather strip to keep it from flattening out. The pipe insulation comes in many diameters sizes - black foam in 4' lengths that you wrap around pipes to keep warm. I used a little dish soap to get them...
