Wrong choice for using with chisels, punches, etc. You want a 'direct connection' with these types of tools.
Dead blow types tend to reduce rebound which is a plus in some situations.
With my Euro car with all its magnesium, aluminum and plastic my 1/4" drive sees the majority of use. Suspension work normally entails the 1/2" drive. Motorcycles see mostly 1/4" drive also with the exception of the axle nut. I'm using my 3/8" drive tools less and less.
Age unknown. They are Swiss needle files. They are used for shaping and removing metal, usually in the watch and jewelry trades. They are worth whatever you can get for them.
