we had the standard and metric short hex sets at work both for 49 bucks at napa, ive only ever used a hex socket a few times so i didnt bother getting them but looks like it would of been a decent buy for you

i bought a 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 stanley set from canadian tire for like 60 bucks goes up to 22mm or somewhere around there, have used it many times with no issues, just sits in the trunk 95% of the time but when you need it you need it, dont cheap out too much to where youll wreck the sockets/...

well ill start at the beginning, a while back i bought a pile of tools off a guy getting out of the trade, so torque wrench, bp 3/8 impact gun, bp multimeter, tons of wrenches, ratchets etc etc, anyways amongst the tools there were quite a few SO snap ring pliers/ hose pliers/ battery terminal...

have this ratchet myself, works great probably my favourite ratchet next to my 3/8 gw roto head.. never had an issue

i agree with the other posters, looks like youre paying new price for the tools, i would pay 3000-3500 at very most

lucked out with work having the tool, sometimes its hard to justify spending 60-80+ on a single use tool, old fasteners can be frustrating for sure, broke my 1/2 breaker bar on an axle nut recently :dunno: at least you got the job finished and got her back on the road :thumbup:

definitely, rarely do i buy just parts, may as well pick up some tools at the same time, last job on my car was a cv axle + lower ball joint, picked up a nice work light at the same time :thumbup::thumbup: plus working at a parts store im saving on the labour and on the parts :beer:

x2 on the ultrapro kit, I work at napa and we sell this kit all the time, own it myself did the lines front to back on my impala no issues, for 30$ does 3/16 to 1/2

any time i bid on tools, next thing i look and they are well above list... no idea why or rather right around/ below list plus 20$+ to ship :dunno:
