What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Thought I needed to replace the knock sensor on the Cayman, so ordered one online. Got around to installing, and when I felt for were the sensor should be on bank 2, I located a loose wire. A bit more feeling around, and I located the knock sensor, without any wires attached. Was able to...

    Lets see your workbench

The top is 17mm form ply. Painted with a coating so the concrete does not stick very well to it. The steel was the scrap lying around. Cheers, Ken

    Lets see your workbench

Some much needed horizontal surface was created today. It is a tall work space, and fits over my table saw, and router stand. Easy to move around as it is on wheels. 2.4m x 1.2m and about a metre tall. Made from scraps I had around the property.

Need new mower for 3 acres

I have a Hustler MiniFastrak that has had some issues. It is only a 36" cutting deck, but I wanted something I could get through gates on other peoples properties, as I was originally going to start up a yard maintenance business. This never happened, but still use it on my 2 acres. I only...

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Bob Heine's Auto Emporium

Hey Bob, I missed the post about the passing of your dog, but saw references to it. My condolences. Progress is looking good. Seems we have similar cable installers on this side of the world also. I have a cat 6 cable running from my modem out the wall, along my deck, across to a tree...

How to remove locking Lugnuts without the key

Our son did the right thing when he borrowed my BMW X5, and had two tyres plugged when he discovered tech screws in them. This was done at a shop 4 hours away from my home. These tyres are on alloy rims, and each have a Mcguard locking bolt with a spinning collar on them. They must have used...

Hot dip Gal planks that are surface rusted.

I have several planks for my scaffolding that need re galvanising. Many are covered with surface rust. I want to send them to Townsville (the nearest place that does it to me), and get them re galvanised. I believe they dip them in acid first before the gal process. Does this remove the...

    The *Mostly* BMW Garage Bolt-On

Great project, and cars. I purchased a F30 330i, and was very underwhelmed by it's performance. SWMBO now drives it. and I have a diesel X5 (which I originally purchased for her), and a Porsche Cayman that I alternate driving to work in. Sometimes I also drive my TD5 Defender. Tough making...
