well I got prices today for just some 10' foot pieces of square/rectangle tube and what i wanted to use was about 80$ more then the price of the C. So i might just use the C as my long runners and buy smaller pieces to make legs and cross beams.
I having trouble on what kinda of fabrication table I want to build, as I 3 big pieces of steel that I received from helping an old friend. I have a 33"Wx8'Lx.75"thick and I also have two 9' pieces of 6" c channel.
Thick plate would be something like the strong hand benches with 5/8 water jet...
I collect thelittle pieces of filler and when I get a few I tack them together to make another filler stick...for tungsten length you can get as short as the gun allows it...also for griding I lay it on the base and tilt up then knock the point off with it ground like that I haven't got a stray...
Only thing I can say on aluminum is consistency.... One thing I do for aluminum is start out slow to get heat/ penetration... Then in my head I'm always counting(one one thousand, two one thousand, etc) and at the end I dip the filler... Google welding tips and tricks and be ready to watch a lot...
