    4-Post lift identification "A-1 10,000lb"?

Got a manual from an authorized parts distributor, and so far everything is there, and in actually pretty good shape. All pullleys, pins, nuts, bolts, cables are accounted for, along with extra parts (as mentioned) for a two post lift. Once I have everything assembled, I'll call the auction...

    4-Post lift identification "A-1 10,000lb"?

Got everything home, looks like a shop went out of business and sent everything to auction. Also looks like they boxes all the loose parts and put them on my lot number as mentioned. Brand is hydra-lift, built in Ontario, gonna try to find a manual and get it up and running.

    4-Post lift identification "A-1 10,000lb"?

Yeah sounds like that's either where they bought it, or who serviced it. I live in NE Calgary and I know where those guys are located now that I see their address. Graham auctions is where I found this one, they had 3 others, which all went for cheap.

    4-Post lift identification "A-1 10,000lb"?

Welp, did a maybe stupid thing and bought a 4 post lift sight unseen. Its a complete 10k lb four post unit, bought through auction. Only details I have are that it's an "a-1" 10k pound lift. Now I haven't seen it yet, and won't be able to until Friday, but I'm curious if anyone in here has...

    Dumb garage door conversion question

The fab part on this is easy, I build trucks, and am currently building a mega truck. Yeah the door is on the gable end, and there is plenty of room to mount the opener. Door width is 16' wide, if over time its a problem, no biggie, I'll plan for it, just right now I have 0 money to put into...

    Dumb garage door conversion question

Track are as high as they can be, in the center of the door is the peak, and I have like 4' of room above the opener I want to free up.

    Dumb garage door conversion question

Lol, true, but if it doesn't work I'd like to not butcher everything completely so I can return to the original setup.

    Dumb garage door conversion question

Meh, time is irrelevant to me, would take me no more than an afternoon/evening to do this (I have a full fab shop setup) and the only cost is the chain/sprocket.

    Dumb garage door conversion question

To buy a new jackshaft opener was anywhere from 4-500 to replace what I have now with a new one. I'm wanting to convert my existing opener to a jackshaft/side opener.

    Dumb garage door conversion question

I'm looking to get rid of the center/overhead garage door opener and go to a side mount. I have a vaulted ceiling and I want to maximize this space. My door size is 8.5x16' In short I don't have the ~$500 to buy new right now (but in the future when I do i'll do this proper), and used are...

Mud truck axle project, meritor 5 ton planteries & ford 9"

Notcher tube wrapper templates for the angles the notcher can't handle, and an angle grinder with flap disc. I actually don't mind a small gap, but the fit and finish can suffer a bit.

Mud truck axle project, meritor 5 ton planteries & ford 9"

Good eye on the toilets ;). The bending is the easy part, the measuring is easy too, as have the chassis jig gives good datum points, the challenge is the coping, but it's getting better.

Mud truck axle project, meritor 5 ton planteries & ford 9"

Yup working on it slowwwwwwly, couple hours a night during the week after the kids go to bed. My tube bending skills are decent, but my tube coping skills are a work in progress, so it takes me a lot of time to get anything done. Couple pictures to show current progress. Working on the...

    MIG welding cast iron

No, do not preheat cast iron red hot prior to welding it, you are nearing the transformation temperature which will completely mess up the grain structure of the material (I can't remember the exact details as it's been a while since I went through it, but I can look it up and post back if...
