I have a rotary floor plate 9000 lb lift. they only required 4in minimum thickness on concrete. I bought it used so i didn't have a choice on the floor plate. Have done several transmissions and the floor plate is not that big of a deal. but if buying new i would go clear floor...

mine is 30 x40 lift on 1 side. I had the doors separated 9 feet with a table between both doors, thats so you can move around and not hit the car next to you 1 door is 10x10 and 1 is 10x12.

I bought a used rotary sp9 for $1,000. I e-mailed rotary for directions and received them the next day. I love it , has picked up my dually with no problem. Would of rather of had no floor plate but i can't complain.

I wouldn't be worried about the angle iron, it will be filled with the tube and welded. Your idea looks good to me. Just not sure how much weight it can tow to begin with, being only supported by the ends. It looks like it was put there incase your rearended the car does not go under your truck...

I went with web steel in may of 07. Good expirience. Paid roughly 12,500 for a 30x40 x14,fully insulated with 1 10x10 and 1 10x12 roll up door shipped 1100 miles to my door. You just need to know what you need in the bldg. snow load ,wind load ,sky lights ect... Its exspensive to have plans...
