Blow gun with bendable metal tip

I made a couple half a century ago using 1/8 NPT x1/4 compression fittings and 1/4 copper tubing. blowing out air filters was easy if the tubing was bent just so and the compression nut was loosened so that the tubing would spin like a helicopter. Made these when taking a break from making...

Irwin *****. I need a high quality tap holder

If you have Gearwrench taps they won't work in the Lisle tap sockets. the square drive on the tap is much smaller than the tap shank so the shank hits before the square portion engages. I also found them to dull more quickly than a quality tap, at least when using dark cutting oil.

    Craftsman 8 point sockets

Sometimes use with easy outs, especially the very large sizes. in restricted areas the 8 point sockets require less room than the Lisle tap drivers.

    Lift wouldn't stop going up

This has happened to me a couple of times with different lifts during my 50 year career in auto/truck repair. both times the cause was jogging the lift to inch it up, i believe there was not enough time for contacts to cool. it is good practice to have an emergency disconnect at lift control...

Mechanics: Tips and tricks you've learned

Use t pins from sewing section for backprobing wire connectors I keep them punched through the lid of a film spool container. Need an insulated t pin, stick it through an old plastic hydraulic shipping cap. While in sewing aisle, grab a couple of seam rippers, they are great for opening up...

    Snap on Counselor II

Unless you use it in ride around with a driver mode. Then you may need a 12v source. That is a great scope if all functions still work.

    Snap on Counselor II

After a few minutes thought, don’t worry about a 12v source, should work fine on 6v.

    Snap on Counselor II

Hi, while I am not a true auto o’scope jockey, I did use one professionally on a daily basis back in the 1990-2005 years. I never tried using it on a positive ground system. In my opinion you would just connect the battery leads to pos and neg according to the scope , not according to...
