    What might this tool be??????? My dad was a heavy duty mechanic and a welder. It appears to be some sort of a scribe. And looks like it would be an attachment to some sort of measuring device. Can't figure out how it would be used since I don't know of any stand to hold it. The movable parts...

    Yes. One of the tips is copper! That one in particular looks like it might have been homemade. My dad was a heavy duty mechanic. I know he did do some soldering. You might be on to something! Thanks
