Yeah, but that new Craftsman ratchet is probably made in China. I'd rather pay $10 for a good used USA-made ratchet than any price for one made in China, but that's just my preference and my right. Always has been; always will be.
I agree, but the ad on Ebay said it was an American one...
How goes the tool hunt otherwise?
Well I am relatively new to Phoenix, so I am still learning were the swap meets and good garage sales are. I am proud to have my first garage as well, so I finally have room to spread out. Picked up an old Delta drill press last month. I have a crappy China...
Wow, thanks for the responses.
If I may hijack my own thread and turn it into a flea market price rant. All day Sunday I thought I was being a cheap skate, did not buy a thing. For example I needed another 3/8 ratchet. Every booth had a Craftsman one, they all wanted $10. I could not talk...
I have a few holes in my wrench collection. It is always easy to pick out Craftsman tools from the bins at the swap meet, but I thought I should broaden my horizons. I would only consider US made tools, but is it bad to generalize in that way? Are some US brands ****?
I have a 12v lithium ion porter cable set. The drill and impact combo. I really like the impact driver. The chuck on the drill kinda ***** though.
They are compact and light, charge in a half an hour too. I use them 90% of the time, anything bigger I use my press or my old corded Makita.
I have noticed a lot of brown ones here, but not this color. Is this look like a good one? It is a c-list find and it says make an offer. What would be a fair offer?
'59 Delta Homecraft a.k.a. Goldfinger. Just finished it up, wanted an original light but they cost as much as I have in the whole drill. Had to make do with desk lamp and a coconut milk can (no ribs)
I need to build or find a suitable table now. Not sure which direction I want to go...
Not sure why my pics keep coming out sideways
I know its a little bright, its Rustoleum Hammered Copper. Applied with a brush, it really coats well and leaves a very nice feeling surface. I was skeptical about brushing it, but I am now sold on it. Much cheaper by the quart than...
Sorry but I did not catch where the OP lives or travels. I realize this is not a "tool" bag thing but I live in the desert and I don't leave home without shade cloth and a gallon of water. Course cold weather travel would mean snow chance candles etc. Florida mean skeeter repellant and a shot...
