I have noticed a lot of brown ones here, but not this color. Is this look like a good one? It is a c-list find and it says make an offer. What would be a fair offer?

Its the color of mine. If its a 1/4 hp motor, I'd say $20-30. 1/3 hp motor $10 more.

I always love those "make offer" folks on craigslist. 99.9% of the time they want an offer that is way more than what the item is really worth. Crack heads ebay I call it. Otherwise grow a pair and put a damn price on your item.

I think I have the same one. Depending on how soon you need a grinder, I'd probably top out at $60 MAX, and it better run 100%, both wheels in great condition, missing no parts, no major issues. I'd say ~$30-$40 is realistically fair. They really don't seem to fetch much. Just my 2¢

Edit, check your PM.

if it runs great that is a great old Craftsman. the light isn't still on a lot of these and especially in that good of shape. also you can actually see thru the glass and the wheels look great.

if it runs great when you turn it on and doesn't have any strange sounds pay what you think is fair for a grinder that might last you the rest of your life. What is the HP and asking price? you have a lot of old handy guys in your area so i'm wondering if it is even still available.

Happy New Year

^^^ What he said. So many of these old grinders are missing tool rests, eye shields, lights, wheel guards.

These parts can be very tough (or impossible) to find.

IMHO the condition of that grinder is excellent. $75 would not be unreasonable as long as it's 1/3HP +.

I have that same color, without the light. Mine was in similar shape, not used much, and I got it for $40. Works fine. Mine is 1/3 hp.
