Pro techs: Have you used a 19.5mm lug nut removal socket?

It's a daily occurrence, but what put me over the top was four vehicles in a row. Ain't nobody got time for that. I bought a 20mm socket, but I found that it's just a touch too big and I was making a bad problem worse. It's funny that you mention that. About the third vehicle in a row, I...

Pro techs: Have you used a 19.5mm lug nut removal socket?

I'm tired of fighting distorted caps when removing lug nuts. Has anyone tried one of these in a professional environment? Thanks in advance for any input. https://store.snapon.com/Lug-Nut-Sockets-Lug-Nut-Removal-Socket-Blue-Point--P648104.aspx...

    flex handle vs breaker bar

Yep. Back in the day I didn't even have a floor jack. It was a real pain in the rear having to raise and lower the car multiple times with a scissor jack. :willy_nil

Must have tools when working under a 2 post lift

This is great idea, but I prefer the larger ones. I've found the smaller ones can quickly get full with only a handful of lug nuts.

    flex handle vs breaker bar

Always? I can't count the times that I had to lower the car back down because I forgot to break the lug nuts loose. I was a slow learner. Bolded for truth. We can always make more money, but we can't always get more time. Work safe!

    flex handle vs breaker bar

Well as you've seen, 50% of the brake jobs that you've witnessed half fallen off the jacks. Personally, I don't trust hydraulic jacks to support the load while I'm crawling around working on that load. I guess the question that you have to answer is, Do you feel lucky? Look at it another way...

You do have jack stands, right?

A transmission drain funnel and a no splatter pad. Makes changing oil almost a no mess proposition.

Cman socket organizer has spots for sockets they don't make!?!?!!

It has to be a contrasting color. That way it will drive the OP nuts every time he looks at it. :spit:

I thought this was going to be a thread about buying dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, etc. :)

I always remove my crappy eye protection. Want quality googles, glasses, etc.

I'm glad that you like them. You won't be disappointed. Another selling point for me is the fact that they stay in place on a ball cap on the rare occasion that I do take them off. Other glasses that I've tried were always flying off my hat.

Is there a tool to measure brake pads ?

I've got one of those. It's useful for measuring pad thickness without removing the wheel. There were times that it wouldn't work though. You have to be able to get through an opening in the wheel, get on the rotor, and be able to catch the metal edge of the pad. That's not always possible. At...

    Possible Flaw in Snap-on Ratchet

IMO, your dealers attitude would bother me more than the flaw in the ratchet. Assuming that you paid full retail for the ratchet and didn't cause the damage to the ratchet yourself, I would talk to the dealer again and explain to him that I fully expected him to replace the ratchet.

    Chopped 55 f100

Very nice work! Thank you for the updates. Maybe I missed it, but what was the final decision on using the body hammer for the shifter?
