Building a steel shed. Few questions regarding foundation and floor

Hello everyone! I'm getting close to putting up a 10'x14' steel shed in my backyard. The shed is a kit I bought from Home Depot and will be assembled on site. I'm currently bringing in fill to raise and level out the location. After leveling/packing I will be constructing a treated 4"x4" frame...

Should I install a ceiling fan to help bring the heat down from the ceiling???

Thanks for the information everyone! Do these industrial fans use a round style junction box for mounting? Does anyone know if there is any minimum requirements on the distance between the ceiling and the fan blades? I notice some of the fans have two different length down rods to choose from.

Should I install a ceiling fan to help bring the heat down from the ceiling???

I'm in the process of finishing my single stall attached garage. I have my Fahrenheit 5000 hooked up and running which was perfect timing since it got down to 1F last night! While painting and going up and down the latter I noticed it was quite a bit warmer at the ceiling then by the floor. I...

Thanks for the information. I took a look at that diagram and it looks like that's geared towards new construction. You do make a good point about how this area is relatively small for the amount of heat that will transfer. I'm thinking for now I will paint the blocks the same color as my walls...

Insulating over concrete block foundation...need opinions???

Just finished putting a second coat of Dry-Lok over my concrete block foundation in my garage. The foundation forms a 'L' shape since the garage is attached to the house. I installed R-13 over the 2x4 stud walls which sit on top of the foundation. I believe there is a 2x6 between the foundation...

Options for base trim in my garage?

I'm in the process of finishing my 1 stall attached garage. The outer walls have a concrete block foundation but the interior wall has a 2x4 bolted to the floor. I plan on painting the block foundation with some Drylok. After I sheet over this interior wall with OSB, I'm looking for options to...

Forced air electric heater for my garage?

Well I decided to get the Fahrenheit 5000. Found it at Fleet Farm for $249. I leaning towards installing a thermostat since my stud walls are exposed and I can run wire easily. I never installed a thermostat and no nothing about them. Will any basic digital thermostat work with this heater? What...

Forced air electric heater for my garage?

Hello all! New to this forum. I'm in the process of re-modeling my garage. Before all this, I want to get all my electrical done beforehand. I would like to add a heater to the garage. I have natural gas and off-peak electric in my house. I'm leaning towards an electric forced air heater to take...
