Lift modifications Thread- Lets see them!

I did one modification right away and it wasn't for me. My 13 year old wanted a place to relax and hang out while I work on the hot rods. Quick and easy

    Vapor protection for VCT??

Hello all! I hope your Thanksgiving was great. I wasn't able to get out to my shop this long weekend, so I decided to look at all your work for inspiration. I'm really liking the VCT because I can replace tiles that need it, after welding or scratching issues, and I can do it myself in...

Above 1200 Sq/FT 46x30 in Southern NJ finally!

Very similar idea there. Your's looks great! I went 30x48x11 due to my tree line just barely clearing a 100 year FEMA flood zone. I think this is a perfect size. I have my lift in the end bay and can move 3 more cars in if I wanted to.

Which orientation is your garage and why?

I built my 30x48x11 with the 10x10 doors on the long side so I could use bays and have room to roll one or two to the side of the bays and work on them. You can see I have 3 cars in there in the one pic but I have room to turn the closest one and fit 2 in there side by side. That is, until I...

    Enclosed trailer upgrades and modifications

I have a 22 foot 2020 Legend with rivetless walls. It's been great so far. I put 1 piece coin rubber on the floor and E tracked it all the way down. I bolted a 20x20x36 aluminum box to the front and put an ATV winch in it bolted to the floor (supported of course). I have a 12 volt deep cycle...

    Pole Barn Insulation

I'm in Wyoming with a 30x48x11 so I'm close to yours in size. I did my walls with R19 and am doing my ceiling in R38-42 as well. I am recessing my electrical into the wall though and am dealing around the boxes. It gets sips windy here and typically teens for low in the winter. I would...

    DIY Minisplit needing 8/2 wire???

Justinjoyal, that was the answer I was looking for. You know the unit and it's requirements and what I needed. I was told these are not a load motor setup that hits high amps on startup like a standard house HVAC unit. Thank you Sir!

Please Vote On Which Pole Barn Setup You Think Is Best!

The 40x60 is my favorite idea but you are going to be putting boats and such in there that you won't have much of a turn approach to the doors with that layout unless you plan to drive into the leach field. If so, that's my bet as long as the field isn't soggy wet. What kind of wind and what...

    DIY Minisplit needing 8/2 wire???

Disregard. I found all I need in another thread searching back. I'm going to run the 10/2 and a 30 amp breaker.

    DIY Minisplit needing 8/2 wire???

Hey all. I'm insulating my 30x48x11 pole barn with R19 in the walls, and R38 or 42 in the ceiling blown in. I'm wanting a mini split because the 12,000 unit we have in our game room works great plus I don't have gas out there and want AC and cell phone control so a Minisplit fits perfectly...

    Mini Split Sizing 30 x 30' 14' ceilings, Check Manual J

Sounds low to me but I'm no expert. Then again, I keep trying to consider keeping the shop low like the house and the same with the heat. Interested to hear what the pro's have to say. I'm 30x48 with 11ft walls so not TOO far off.

    Driveway Edging

I'm next door to you in Wyoming. I'm also doing a RR tie drive border from my shop to my current asphault drive. I have gone round and round with these same ideas but it always comes back to the fact that someone WILL drive over a part of it, snowblowing as was mentioned and the ground moving...

    Penntek floor coating experience? Outdoors?

Thanks for responding!! I have read that thread. His floor under the coating looks smooth as if it were not cut and prepped right. I'm no pro, but I used what I've read and heard here in lots of posts from the sellers and used here to ask the questions I need. They say it will hold up and...
