    Thats too fancy for me, I always just walk to the light bulb cabinet and grab a wedge base bulb and bend the wires out and jam them in the connector. instant universal noid light. lol

    Tell the landlord you would like 220 in the garage, if he is not interested in doing so, go rent a different house....I would not consider messing with the wiring of a house I am renting....

    Just to report back in case anyone searches for this, you hit the nail on the head, when I popped the 2nd regular outlet in the string out, I saw it, the ground got smashed against a neutral screw head, repositioned it, put everything back together and all of my outlets are now working fine off...
