You have to warranty stuff, but overall returns are pretty minimal. Round these parts there's as many independent tool trucks/vans as franchise guys.

I don't even take cards, just take payment via mobile banking, £5 a month for a business bank account, £300 odd a year for an accountant, insurance is expensive but essential, but other than that nice flat business model, no franchise fees etc.

I'm at the bottom end of the market, most expensive thing I sell other than tool chests is trolley jacks at around $190

Big truck big diesel bill, plus access can be a nightmare.

There's loads out there already, especially in rural areas where mac and snap-on aren't so keen to drive around.

Bergen no longer exists, USpro midrange brand, mostly Taiwan socket and ratchet wise, good solid tools, and cheap enough so that losing them isn't a disaster.

No money in selling it online, face to face much better, and I've ended up with some really sound new friends. Best thing I've ever done tbh.

I've probably sold thousands of Indian made wrenches over the last few years, nobody has broken one yet. Here all the oil cans, grease guns and extractors are from India.

Price of everything manufactured has gone into orbit, container costs from China being one major culprit, quite a few things we sell are now priced higher wholesale than we used to retail them for, nightmare trying to explain this to customers who think we're just being greedy.
