WTH has happened to the classifieds.....

Yep. I used to buy lots of stuff on there, I have up when it changed.

Do you lock your box at work?

Yes, at home and work. Two guys at work have access to get in my box. The other 200 mechanics…tough.

EVolution 14" cold cut saws $250 on sale at sears

I thought I would update this. I'm still on my original blade. It's not as good as new, and I chipped a few teeth, but it works fine. You have to go slow cutting aluminum with it. It will eat it up, but it will fill the tooth with aluminum if you go to fast before it can kick it out. I...

Flare Nut wrenches 6 or 12 point?

I rounded five brake line fittings with a six point snap-on flare nut wrench. I tried a cheap one first, huge difference. I hate to think of how many that would strip out.

Flare Nut wrenches 6 or 12 point?

Tractors don't have an fittings (not factory anyway, before somebody shows a custom puller or something). I would get 6 point, much mess likely to round them off. The only 12 point I like are old proto pebble style, and they're hard to find. I've been trying to finish my set of them for 8 years.

HF Torque Wrench...Is it any good?

My two hf torque wrenches passed calibration every six months. One if my craftsman, and one of my snap-on did not. You were saying? There are quite a few hf torque wrenches at work, and very few that did not pass calibration.

    Fluke DMMs

Yep, mine is almost dead on with my fluke 88 with dc voltage and ohms (all I checked), go figure.

Why Do I Need 1000+ ft lbs in an Impact?

One thing if you get one, replace all your fittings with Milton type V high flow fittings. It makes a huge difference on my impact, 3"'cutoff wheel, etc.

    GearWrench Gone To Hell?

I've broken one 9/16" gearwrench, and I had both feet braced against a plane, jerking on the wrench. To be fair, it didn't even fully "break", I jammed it. It would come loose, but jammed with no pressure after that. It was warrantied, no troubles since. I have 1/4"-1 1/2" gearwrench at home...

    What's Decent Flaring Tool?

I just bought the mastercool when we needed to replace the lines on dad's truck. To hell with that other ****. This is the first time in 10 years I've done brake lines, and it paid for itself already, IMHO. Every week? Find the money.

    $100 drill press

Hell no. They sell new for that. You might want to check redmond machinery and ask if they have any scratch and dents. I got a 1.5hp, 3/4" chuck 20" swing Jet from them for $400 and shipping.

Why Do I Need 1000+ ft lbs in an Impact?

I've had my nitrocat for 5ish years now, love it.

    Chopped 55 f100

This has to be one of the best builds I've seen, and I don't even like Fords. Awesome job! I usually realllyyy hate stacks on old trucks, those look perfect. I never thought I would have liked that many louvers on a bed cover either, but again, looks great!

    Another 55 F100 build-Long Term

I like it, and you know what, even the builds that I haven't liked on here, I can appreciate the quality of work that goes into them. The only thing I'll knock somebody on is a hack job. IMHO, using what you have is how hot rodding got started.

    220v to 110v?

I ran two outlets (separate breakers) for my welder and plasma cutter. It's 8 gauge wire. I never use both, as I need an extension cord, and only made one. I need to wire in a hookup for my camper. 120v, 30 amp. Is it a big no-no to just cap the red wire at both ends, and swap to a 110...
