    Hangar improvement project

Any specific advice or products that you would suggest? I realize that ripping the roof cap and the trim pieces off of the wall, sealing behind them somehow and then putting it all back together would likely be the best method, but I also realize that Ill likely be buying trim and caps if I...

    Hangar improvement project

Thank you! Life isn't too bad. Everything was acquired with a lot of overtime and a little luck throughout the years. I should have specified that all four panels on the door are separate and the inners are balanced between the wheel on the ground and the track on the top which makes them...

    Hangar improvement project

I'm in the process of buying the aircraft hangar that I have been renting for the past couple of years. Long story short, it needs some help in a few different areas and I am looking for advice. It is a 30x40 pole building with a concrete floor. My primary objective is to seal it off from the...

    Why Buy Snap-on?

Coming from a guy who owns a box full of snap on tools, I find myself having a harder and harder time justifying the price. Part of the problem is our truck guy has become hard to get a hold of and has a poor attitude on the rare occasion that I need something replaced. The quality of tools is...

    **Aviation Mechanics thread**

Started in 08 as an avionics tech fresh out of a&p school, still working at the same small shop. I've worked on L39s, p51s, rvs, hueys, t28s, beech 18s, an A4, etc to list some of the more interesting ones. It's been a fairly good career for me thus far. Sent from my Rezound on Tachyon using...

    Harbor Freight vs Masterforce Box

Another vote for the masterforce. I chose it over the harbor freight because of the color options and drawer latch setup as others have stated. I've been happy working out of it everyday for about a year now. Sent from my Infected Rezound using Tapatalk

    vct flooring 1 year old

I think you guys have me sold. Is it possible to lay this over broom finish concrete or will I have to diamond grind it first? I'm also interested in how the op trimmed out his drains as I have a very similar setup. Sent from my Infected Rezound using Tapatalk

    Thawing a water supply line?

Also as much as I love the fire idea I'm pretty sure it's frozen in the road and burning tar smells really bad lol. Sent from my Infected Rezound using Tapatalk

    Thawing a water supply line?

Nearest fire hydrant is across the street and a few hundred feet down the road. I've pretty much come to grips with the fact that I'm basically out of water for a month to 6 weeks or so. Yeah it's a huge pain in the *** but I'm into it for about $200+ and three days worth of worthless labor...

    Thawing a water supply line?

Thanks, the only way I can think to get it connected without digging is to hook on to the neighbours supply and mine, completing the circuit through through the main. You're preaching to the choir my good sir. Idk if a petition to change the policy would do any good or not. I literally can't...

    Thawing a water supply line?

That is way the law reads. If it breaks I have to tear up the street, repair the line, and fix the road to their specifications. I talked to city hall and they said there's tons of people out of water in town. They aren't willing to do anything at all even if it's the main at this point. The...

    Thawing a water supply line?

Yeah, putting that one on the back burner for the moment. I'd hate to utter the words "hold my beer and watch this".

    Thawing a water supply line?

Just a slight update. Im about 60' up the pipe with my plastic tube and still pumping warm water. I have a guy on standby that offered to let me use his welding rig but the only way to get continuity is to hook onto the neighbors house then mine and let it burn... Im not a big fan of that idea...
