I just recently posted very similar results here. Got a response on my thread but to make a long story short, I rented a grinder. I just got done actually, about 40 min ago... 11 hrs with about 3 to go in the AM. It ***** *** but I think it's working. :P

When you say clearcoat, is that similar to the epoxy clears? Would what you describe be more, or equal durable than a full on epoxy floor? Only reason I ask is that I might just do a full on epoxy job, which gives a beautiful result, if it will be effected the same way by "rougher than...

I read that water drops are suppose to "soak in" to the concrete, but mine isn't soaking in at all which leads me to believe that it has some sort of sealer on/in it. Can anyone confirm this for me and perhaps offer some advice on how to remove it? The slab is pretty old, maybe 25 years old...
