Here we go again - Air Lines!

Thanks I have some friends and family that want to set up the shop with PVC. I have been trying to talk them out of it. I have seen PVC used but it was in lab situations using less than 30 psi but even that makes me nervous. I may steal your photo to try and talk them out of it.

I just asked out of interest and education not out of justification.

Mr. Heater at Lowes - $384 - Good deal?

50K should be enough for a large 2 car (24x36) so a one car it will easily keep it nice and warm. The vertical vent kits are not necessary because of going through the roof. I just went through my garage wall for my furnace and have an exterior mounted chimney.

    Thermostat question, recommendation...

I have heard of lower ones but they are hard to find. Most residential ones will only go to 40-45 because that is slightly above where water may start to freeze in the pipes.

Mr. Heater at Lowes - $384 - Good deal?

I believe those units do have a power plug but a thermostat would be there to regulate the heat so it is not always on. There will be two screws to connect a low voltage thermostat too. It does not take much just some lamp cord or speaker wire for it. I would recommend running a designated...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Removed the body off of the frame of my Chevelle.

Mr. Heater at Lowes - $384 - Good deal?

Usually at the end of the sales year for a particular product they go on clearance so not to carry dead inventory through the summer or winter. They may get more in the fall. I have heard that they are a good heater but some are prone to mother board failure from time to time.

    Buying house with tall garage

You will not be able to go clear across the width of the building because of the doors but you can do the width. You will have to have support poles in the centre of it to ensure that the floor has support through the middle of the room. The only thing to question is the structure of the...

    To sky light or not?

Instead of a skylight have your considered doing the top two feet around the walls just under the soffit? I have seen this under a lot of shops. They are less prone to yellowing and wind/hail damage in the future.

Ever felt like you were getting ripped off?!

The 1/8 peg board price is the empty home below it. If HD puts the sticker on the bottom beam it is for the product below, if it is on the top of the beam it is for the product on top. Lowe's will just label the beam below or put arrows on it if the product is in a different location.

    Oh God not another Canuck

Yes we can lull them in with strong beer and poutine. Then when they pass out steal their wallets. I am actually a member of the Michigan Widetrackers so I spend a lot of time in the Detroit area for the car club. Since it is a Pontiac club we have to take the wife's car. Actually I went...

    Oh God not another Canuck

Greetings from Sarnia Ontario. I have been lurking for a bit now and stolen a bunch of ideas for my little shop so thanks for the ideas. Right now the shop is a 24x24 garage with my Chevelle in it and I am proud to say that for the first time in 11 years it has heat.
