How do you manage work/clean-up time in the shop ?

The neighbor kid can always use twenty bucks, I put on my coffee and point at stuff. He gets a little pocket money and learns about tools. Win / win.

    My Home Machine Shop

I'm still not sure if I'm offended or not by the gear upgrade to that '48 Craftsman.

    My Home Machine Shop

Your electrical situation is giving me fits, but I love the homemade / vintage feel. I've got the same drill press, they just don't make em like they used to.

Ratcheting Wrenches- Do you prefer 15 degree or 0 offset?

I find the 15°s are the set I use most often, but then I do a lot of bench type work and not much engine bay wrenching. YMMV.

    Storing razor blades

Meh, I toss em. "Disposable" is just that. On the rare occasion I need one that's sharper than a bulk pack cheapo I'll get a Feather blade from my shave kit and consider it ruined.

Electrician tried to burn me - TWICE!

I was doing 200A upgrades for $1500 fifteen years ago. The residential guys must really be starving these days.

    Weirdest item in your toolbox?

Well that's not weird at all.

    Weirdest item in your toolbox?

Easy. I keep fondue forks, always have since my days as a field electrician. Handy damn dandy.

How to get people to pay over retail on ebay?

This. I attend several firearms auctions annually, and occasionally things can go full retard.

The Grotto Garage – don’t forget to breathe.

I really enjoy the concept. I think I might have gone differently with the wood, something super dense and dark, and definitely more lighting options than the minimalist can lights in the bays. It's beautiful, maybe a slight clash in styles between opulent and rustic.

You know that's an old photo, because the guy in the suit has grease on his hands.

Snap-On Tool Boxes scored on Craigslist

Good pickup! It's like I always tell people, just keep an eye open, those 70's vintage top brand boxes are out there. Set of casters and some paint, and they're good for another forty years!

    Buddy system gone wrong $$$

Hell, who ain't been to this party right? I find its best to have a long sit down before projects like this get off the ground. Make sure everybody's on the same page. All the same I still don't pay out more rope than I'm willing to lose.

What's everyone using to store hex bits?

I don't have a pic as I'm at work, but I just took a block of Delrin I had laying about and drilled it to accept 24 bits

What would you pay for this older Craftsman top box?

I guess it depends on how patient you're feeling. I hunted CL for the better part of a year to get my boxes, and even longer for Lista cabs. It's worth the wait tho, it only takes one sticky / bent drawer to make you hate it forever. I've got a Kobalt top box I bought on a ding/dent sale.... How...
