Will the big blue wire nuts from home depot work with 3 #8 wire? It says max 2 #6 but not sure if it will be ok with 3 8's. Anyone have any insight? Jesse

    Farenheat operation question

I just received my farenhet 5000w heat and took it for a quick test. After it ran for a few minutes I turned it "off". Here's my two questions.... 1. It seemed like it ran for a while after shutting off. I know the fan is supposed to run for a bit, I guess I was surprised how long it ran. Is it...

Electric Heater/Anyone Use One of these?

For what it's worth, I have the profusion 5000w that was on sale for $99 a week or so ago. When it was 3 outside and 26 in my 2 car garage it took 3-4 hours to get to mid 50's. Today it was 19 outside and 38 I the garage when I turned it on. It was pushing 60 in an hour. Somthing that helped a...

    Farenheat vs profusion

A little more info on my original post. I currently have the profusion running in my 2 car garage. When I turned it on it was 26 in the garage, 3 outside.. By noon it was low 50's. It maintains the 50's cycling on and off no problem. I was wondering if the farenheat would do a better job??? Or...

    Farenheat vs profusion

With electric heat being 100% efficient, does one of these units heat better than the other? I'm talking about the 5000w models.

How did you run your wire to electric heater??

I'm curious what people did when hardwiring their heater. When the wire left the wall did you use conduit to the heater or did you just let the wire hang? Pics would be great. I'm trying to decide what I want to do once my wire comes out if the wall. Hope i explained myself well enough.

Did I buy the wrong wire????

I already had half a run or 8guage from an old stove. I just tied into that to finish the run vs running 75' of 10 guage.

Did I buy the wrong wire????

Ok, thanks for the info. Is the main issue I could have is melting the insulation? Just wondering what I should look for upon start-up.

Did I buy the wrong wire????

I'm preparing to install a farenheat 5000 watt heater in my garage. I ran 8/2 nm wire thinking it was fine. I downloaded the manual for the heater and it says to use wire rated for at least 75deg. I believe NM is only 60? Did I just screw up?
