    Garringtons tools (made in england)

Also a mystery to me. There doesn't seem to be much between them, Unfortunatly the few of each diamond type I have found are all different jaw sizes, so its hard to compare. It might be shaft length though, the Blue Diamonds seem a bit stubbier. Offwith

    Garringtons tools (made in england)

Re: Red/Blue Diamonds I don't know why they are so much flimsier than their others, or for the lack of bird name, but some were used in Riley tool kits, which are generally in shallow trays that would not have taken full-size spanners (I am trying to put such a kit together). However, this...

10 little orphans (wrenches, that is...)

Woody Its a Bonney 420A. I have no idea what the LT stands for, maybe a date code? Length is 8". This is the first Cornwell I have ever found, I don't think they were big sellers over here. They aren't exactly things of beauty, but I do like the functionality. The ratchets on the thread you...

    Garringtons tools (made in england)

Hi Ratchet Your and Melle's posts propted me to have a quick shed-rummage and I came up with the Magpie series of DOEs, the Jay series of flat DRs and the Wren short-handle, deep crank DRs (not mini-spanners, as I thought). There was also a later pattern DR that looks very much like a...

    Garringtons tools (made in england)

Hi Melle The 4" for Jag toolkits are all stamped "Jaguar" on one side. They are now being faked (quite well), but you can tell the difference if you know what you are looking for. An original Jag 4" will fetch up to £150, depending on condition. A non-Jag will still fetch £25+ as many Jag owners...

Its a side-valve compressor. My bad.

Here are some car-boot finds from last weekend, which turned up some nice stuff. The vice has no visible markings, and the tommy-bar is an old screwdriver blade. The oilcan just has "British Made" on it. The spout looks home-made, I now realise the pipe is copper water-pipe. The key-chain pliers...

    Show off your DOE's!

Some great ignition/tappet spanners on this thread. Love Lug's jeep kit too. I had forgotten I am still missing the 0/1 BA from this dinky little King **** set. To the car-boot sales!!!! The spanner holding the case open was a steam-rally rummage box find. No maker, but I really liked the 1940...

    Show off your DOE's!

You probably already know, but the "Big K" Kawasaki spanners were only supplied with 1980s KZ series bikes. Quite sought after nowadays. Offwith

My small but growing DBE wrench collection

That is a really diverse set. I have never thought of collecting different manufacturers, but it has set me thinking..... I have always been a Britool bloke. The pic is of my metrics, but there is a similar AF toolbox and a now little-used Whitworth one too. The RBM oval shaft set runs from...

10 little orphans (wrenches, that is...)

Joining in with the forum has prompted me to peer into the tray of "Don't knows" lurking under a bench in the shed. This tray is often added to, but rarely emptied, so perhaps someone out there can spot something they recognise. No 1. looks like a cylinder head spanner, jaw size is 15.7mm...

DRIVESITFAR'S TOOL FINDS. SOME ARE JUST COOL AND SOME ARE WTF so please help

Planet Junior wrenches are for hand-plows and other small agricultural stuff they made. There are catalogues downloadable on Internet Archive. I seem to recall one having a picture of a homestedder pushing the plow whilst his Missus, strapped into a harness, pulls it! Those big plates you got...

Billings and Spencer screwdriver No 1

Some good stuff there. I like that the factory has been converted to something useful, so many good industrial buildings just get demolished and the architecture is lost forever. Would have been even better if it was still a factory though......

Billings and Spencer screwdriver No 1

My first posting, so hello all. I have a 9.5" B&S cast screwdriver with "No 1" stamped on the tip. I can't find anything online about the screwdriver, can anyone enlighten me on its age, rarity or any other details? We don't see a great deal of B&S on this side of the pond (Wales, UK), so...
