    Above 1200 Sq/FT Restored 1930's Auto Shop

Thomas, I believe this is the left gauge cluster for a '37 Ford (speedometer is on the right). I'll run to the garage and check mine but it sure looks familiar. Same gauges; different graphics. Maybe a '36 or '38?

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Restored 1930's Auto Shop

Thomas, Thanks for taking time out of your day to give my daughter and me a tour of the barn, and a revisit of the original shop. I hope we didn't run you short on time to get Gus to his appointment. He's a pretty cool ol' Dude. Lindsey asked a number of questions on our ride home last night...

Insulated my garage door - now broken hinge

I doubt if the insulation added enough weight to cause any failure or put any additional stress on your opener. Most likely just a coincidence. FWIW, we just insulated a 7 x 16 door at my wife's duplex where she teaches. We bought some rigid styrofoam sheets at Lowe's and cut them to fit the...

    Drywall or OSB ?

I'm finishing up a 30 x 40 detached from the house. I used 7/16 OSB on the walls but opted for 3/4" rigid foam on the ceiling strictly because of the weight. I used R19 bats in the walls and will put R30 between the trusses.

    candy machine?

I have three of 'em. A penny machine, a nickel one and a dime one. I keep 'em full of M&Ms, jelly beans & cashews in that order. The cashews seem to go first, probably 'cause it sits on my '63 Vendo Coke machine. Kinda fun to see how people react to them. Yeah, they're definitely worth $40...

Going To Build A Shop, Need Lots Of Advice!

I'm in the final stages of a 30 x 40 build. I currently have two cars and my 20' enclosed trailer in the building and if I push them to the back wall I have all the front half of the floor free. (The tongue of the trailer does takes up about three feet of add'l floor space.) I opted for a...

    Drywall ceiling concerns...

I can see where the liquid nails would help if you're putting plywood, OSB, cement board, etc. on the ceiling, but with drywall you're just glueing to a paper facing. But hey, .... I've been wrong so many times .............

    anyone have classic car insurance?

I have friends who use Hagerty, some with Grundy and some with MK. All have been satisfied with the rates but I don't recall of any of them filing a claim. I'm with State Farm for the whole show; home, garages, daily drivers and collector cars, ... one of them well north of $100K. I increased...
