As a result of several days reading
on the GJ, you guys have got me all fired up to finish my 45x14 two car garage. Four years ago we added on a two story (basement and 1st floor) addition to our home on the back. My original garage coupled with the addition gave me a two car deep garage. All the basics are done, drywall, insulation, windows, lights, electric, heat, AC and stereo. My plan was too fill up the walls with Gladiator cabinets etc. Then put down the black and white checkerboard tiles. Well that is all changed now. I will build all my own cabinets, upper and lower, short or tall. By doing so I'll save $$$$ and I'll spend it on having a pro finish my floor with a epoxy coating. This will be a working garage since I do my own work and have accumulated a large amount of automotive tools/equipment over the past 45 years. Due to the design of my home, built in 1937 with brick and block, the ceiling height of the original garage is only 7' and the addition had to match that, so no lift.
The new floor does have a swale for washing my cars. I have some work underway on my '67 Vette, so I'll need too finish that and then start cuttin' some wood.
