    Celing Mount with radiant

I have nearly the same system you're proposing and the same heating requirements as you do, also in WI. It's a 40x40 pole construction sealed up well, R19 in walls (+ 1.5 inch air gap under the interior OSB), R32 blown-in for the ceiling, 14 ft ceiling height. I have radiant in the floor with...

    Radiant heat - 1st month's cost

I got my Natural Gas bill for the first FULL month (Dec.) about 8 days ago. For the first month the shed cost me $162, for the two weeks of start-up it was a little over $125 I think. Average outside temp for the Dec. bill was 28, I kept the inside between 45 to 50, so about a 19 deg...

    Boiler heated floot question

I just got my gas bill for the first full month of heat in my shed $162. Average outside temp last month was 28, I kept the inside between 45 to 50. It's 40x40' 14' ceiling, R19 walls, R38 ceiling, four insulated garage doors, four windows, two man doors, 1" insulation under slab with 1500 ft...

    antifreeze for radiant floor system

For me I don't want to contaminate my own well that is about 60' away from my shed. I wanted to make sure everything was ok so for the first year nothing but water. I want to have to option to shut down part of the system, so eventually I will add non toxic antifreeze.

What ceiling to hold my heat in?

I got my steel ceiling material from Menards delivered to my driveway. This stuff is designed to take a snow load so the weight of blown in insulation is pretty insignificant in comparison.

What ceiling to hold my heat in?

I told the building contractor my ceiling and insulation plans prior to the build. He took the weight into consideration when specifying the trusses. I have access to the attic, but don’t store anything up there.

    Ceiling fans needed?

I have hydronic radiant with a 14’ ceiling height. I have a storage loft in one corner so I go up to ceiling height often and the temp feels amazingly even all the time. I also have ceiling fans, when I run the fans on low the room temp is consistently about 4 deg. closer to the slab temp, but...

    Wattage Drop?

If wired correctly power (watts) should stay the same. So per ohms law as voltage goes down, current goes up. You should be drawing more amperage now so make sure wiring (both interal and external of the unit) is sized correctly. http://www.csgnetwork.com/ohmslaw2.html

    Tank or tankless ?

I turned my system on for the first time about 6 weeks ago. Floor space wasn’t much of an issue for me since I wanted to have any open flames way off the floor I built an 8x16’ loft for the heat system, the air compressor, and extra storage. I went with an inexpensive 30 gallon for now a few...

What ceiling to hold my heat in?

I’ve got a 40’x40’ 14’ high pole shed, rafters and poles are 8’ on center. I added 2x4s cross wise from rafter to rafter 4’ on center. Then I put up tin like Red Green did in sections, two 12’ and a 16’ stripe by using scaffolding. A good drywall lift would have been easier. I blew in R38...
