    Upgrading compressor motor?

Be sure to check the pump. I just had trouble with mine. The motor would get hot and trip the thermal breaker on motor. Had 1 cyl. pumping no air. Blown head gasket between intake and exhaust reeds. Compressor is 45 days old. Loose headbolts.

    "New Puma Air Compressors" FYI

On new puma air compressors the headbolts need to be retightened after it has been run enough to be warmed up. I found this out after I had to replace the center head gasket between the 2 reed plates. I guess the aluminum head with cast iron cylinder contributes to this some. Hope it helps somebody.

    Help

That's what I expected so I went ahead and ordered 1. I thought I had motor issues. Motor kept throwing thermal breaker before it would fill. Took motor back to retailer and had it checked. He said he couldn't find anything wrong with it so I did a little more checking.

    Help

New compressor not sucking in any air on 1 cyl. Does this mean the valve plate is bad? It has been taking a long time to air up so I thought I would see if it was intaking air on all cylinders and 1 has a slight exhaust of really hot air coming out. I need someone to confirm my thoughts. Thanks

    EMERGENCY Compressor Help PLEASE!!!

Install bearing halves in rod off the crankshaft and measure the size with a mic. Measure crank journal to see if you have proper clearance. Also check for roundness or flat spots on crank journal.

Check out the models offered by Jet. I have one that was built in the 70's and it's still chewing wood. The one I have is a beasts but a friend has one that is portable.
