Interesting, I suspected some of the codes were crossed-over and you can usually piece it together by what it's not.

As above, I thought G was Easco but the Vanadium Forged line goes back to pre-1960, doesn't it? Here's examples of the chisel and Mac driver handles.

    Craftsman Screwdriver Handles

Pictures a bit fuzzy, but you get the idea. They rolled around a bit over the years so some light scratching and dirt specks are present.

    Craftsman Screwdriver Handles

Hello All, stumped on this one. Sorting through a few estate toolboxes and came across some older (1940-1950's) Craftsman screwdriver handles that appear to be unused - never mounted on a shank. Large size handle, Craftsman Vanadium, "G" mark on handle, no part number of course. Three handles...

THANKS! Exact match, "market tested and approved by thousands of mechanics". My sense is that ball mechanism wouldn't hold up against alot of torque and i'm not sure what rebuild would entail - if that ball strips it's dead. Maybe that or the 16 tooth design cut its production lifespan.

The second main difference is to change direction forward/reverse, you turn the entire head 180 degrees. By feel it seems best to do this when the drive square is straight up vertical, less drag on movement. I think that's when the drive mechanism is unloaded - the drive square doesn't turn when...

Same era I believe but picture the drive square traveling from a typical position at right angle to handle to a position straight out the top of the head - inline with handle. No detents between the two points but some friction against the ratchet mechanism "ball" so there seems to be some...

I know I am but what is it... Blackhawk 3/8" ratchet, part number 34995, shows up nowhere but close to 1940's series tools. Date mark is "76". Also, PAT PEND. Unable to post pics because I don't participate much here due to extreme social distancing practices. Measures 7" long, head/helmet...

    Wright Date Codes?

What do you all think about a date code of "+6" on a 3/4" drive 1" deep socket, marked with part number DS-632. Not listed in 1956 catalog and not any newer. 1936? Wrong answers are welcome since two (or more) wrong answers could eventually lead to the Wright answer!

Hello all, pictured ratchet was part of an assortment I recently acquired in Cleveland Ohio area. This is likely a keeper - great condition and nice feel to it. 50 tooth guts are nice too. My question is the part #, 3800+, I believe this is Wright production and I've located pictures of the 3800...
