    Rats getting into shed

Re: Mice problem One day I watched a mouse climb straight up the brick exterior of my house and tuck under a shingle where a hip roof met a gable roof. A pair of outdoor cats solved the problem. That was 22 years ago and the cats have been replaced periodically but no more mice.

Are you happy with your Bendpak XPR-10 lift

Almost 6 years and zero problems. Handles my Ram 2500 and 1973 Imperial LeBaron easily. Adjustable post pads come in handy. So do Race ramps for low cars.

    Maglite

I had a long run with Maglights and converted some to LED. Unfortunately, Maglight hasn't stayed on top the market and now I buy cheap, amazingly bright Chinese flashlights from Amazon. The were absolutely the finest flashlight in their time.

Looking for a good Gas Can

Just ordered a Justrite from Amazon today...significantly cheaper than Northern Tool. Be sure to note spout size- 5/8" for automotive and 1" for equipment. After a bad experience with Eagle I'm impressed quality of AJustrite.

    Sound deadening?

My shop is a similar size and I solved the problem by enclosing 3'X5' pieces of egg crate pattern foam mattress pad with upholstery fabric stretched over the frame. Then, I hung four frames high on each wall. Someday, I may add a few more frames but it works well enough-conversations are no...

    Wood Vs Fiberglass doors

Wood rots, shrinks, splits, warps, and sheds paint, Why would anyone put it on the outside of a house?

    DSL Wiring

Go outside to the phone company box and plug your modem in there bypassing all house wiring. It's the only sure way to determine if the phone company is providing DSL service. If it doesn't work, one call to the phone company should quickly resolve the problem.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? Finally replaced the carb on my Stihl 028 chainsaw. It's been a difficult lesson to learn that some things, like 24 year old carbs, just can't be fixed. Runs great.

Help me pick a 2-post lift.

I've had my XPR10A for three years. Set it up myself and use it two-three times monthly. Zero problems and I'm quite happy with it. If any of your cars have low ground clearance, you'll need a set of Race Ramps.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? Removed a dead mouse from the HVAC blower on my wife's SUV. The mouse was not dead when he began his merry-go-round ride.

    Where does your drain go?

When we poured my garage floor, I set a floor drain in the center of the second bay and sloped the concrete toward it-great for washing cars in the winter...and summer for that matter. There's a utility sink tied into the floor drain, too. The 4" PVC transitions to RS pipe under the driveway and...

    advice needed, commercial property

If it hasn't been done already, you, your grandmother, and anyone else with an ownership connection to the property need to consult with a lawyer specializing in environmental law. This problem will not go away and could mean years of financial heartache. If there are environmental issues with...

    Carpet Tile

Carpet tiles are the only flooring I'll put in a basement; when wet, simply hang them up to dry...can't do that with carpet. Just be sure to install them square and tight.

Help decipher flickering lights and note from power company

About a year after a lightening strike that coursed through my house wiring to ground, my lights started to flicker. Called the power company to remove the seal and found the meter base on my 400 amp service burned to a crisp. Lights flicker for a reason and it is seldom good.
