I've ripped the skin off the tips of my fingers a couple times, but that looks more extensive then just skin. And finger tips hurt bad, there is a lot of nerves.

I worked with a guy that inherited his grand fathers tools, he broke a wrench and the tool guy was happy to exchange the wrench. The tool was about 70 years old. This is why Snap-on and Matco is so expensive, they guarantee their tools.

Good luck and have fun busting your knuckles. Anti-seize should not be a substitute for lack of tightening. I would rather a clean turn on a tight bolt than a quick jerk in a tight place.
