That's great. I worry about stuff getting to where they belong all the time. The rest of the sockets are in as good a condition as that one. Still have 6 sockets.

My friend has a Eriez magnetics separator he is trying to sell as lawn art. Do any of you guys know about these things? No pics yet, but it is about 3' tall 18" across and about 2-2 1/2' in length. I think it might be from around the 1950's.

I sold the S-K toolbox to the same friend for $50 with the promise that he will take care of it and pass it on.

I will add it to the CL list. If I'm reading it correctly, it says made in china at the bottom of the tag. On the 48" beast, my friend knows a guy who owns a local plumping company and he might be interested.

Besides it would be almost as hard to mount on the wall as the slab of marble I mounted just inside the door.

Good one, but the shotgun next to the door works better. It's a lot lighter too.

Guys do you mind helping me on something else? I posted this on another thread but can't find it again to see if anyone responded. I have an old vise that I was planning to scrap. Nothing exactly like on line, that I can find. I've attached a few photos. Is it worth keeping or should I leave it...

Thanks LXCam. I did not know that. I have always been taught, if you do a job do it well and put your name on it.

You misunderstand. The paper label is the Pittsburgh name. China is embossed in the metal of the wrench.

The reason I asked about the Pittsburgh wrench is, I have one with a paper label and it is embossed with the word china at the bottom. I am always leery of paper labels. Too easy to fake.

Thanks Rileysan, I haven't tried selling on Craigslist yet, bought off it, but not sold on it. Heard a lot of stories about the weird people you might get to respond. I've got a few big items to get rid of, so maybe it's time. By the way bushmechanic, I took your advise this morning, I have an...

No problem d42jeep. I've got a couple of questions you guys might be able to help me with. #1 Did Pittsburgh ever have their pipe wrenches made in china? and #2 Does anybody know what I can do with a 48" Armstrong iron pipe wrench, other than use it as a boat anchor?

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Guys, this was a lot more info than I thought there was about vises out there. Thanks for opening my eyes. After reading this you made me remember there was an old vise I picked up from a guy downsizing his residence after his wife passed. I was planning to scrap it but now I'm thinking there...

Thanks four.cycle, Yeah I do understand about the brow beating. Perhaps my choice of words could have been better thought out. I guess maybe in the back of my mind I was hoping for the proverbial big score but I know better than that. I find tools all the time in storage units and garages, so I...
