    Enormous tool auction coming up

Every old tool has a story, maybe several owners. What a collection!

    Electric corded snow blowers

As a user of a corded snowblower for a decade, get a cordless one. Sure you have unlimited power with a cord, but the hassle of moving the cord around and out of the way slows down the blowing process. Cordless ones finally exist and they work. If runtime is a concern, get another set of batteries.

    Jumper cable recommendation

Bigger the gauge the better. Wire gauge numbers go down with thicker cable, but then back up for the really thick stuff. Even a small engine starter motor will take over 100 amps. I measured my old small car's 1.6L engine as taking about 135 amps to start give or take, in the heat of summer when...

    Twist drill bits recommendations

There were some threads, and I built this list a long time ago. Anyone can correct for accuracy, relevancy, and currentness. Order is not relevant, just numbers: 1. Norseman (aka Viking?) 2. Precision Twist 3. Chicago Latrobe 4. Triumph 5. Hertel 6. Guhring 7. Famag 8. Wood Owl - Auger bits 9...

    Malco Eagle Grip pliers

I wish I could try them all, because yeah I've encountered needle-nose pliers that twist and bend too. So far, I would recommend any German brand, also Facom which is made in France. So maybe: Gedore, Facom, Rennsteig. I beleive the Knipex ones are rebranded from Rennsteig.

    Malco Eagle Grip pliers

I keep a text file of tool brands, here's my locking pliers section in no particular order, just numbered for number's sake with some notes. Make of it as you will. It's possible there are more rebrandings sold under different manufacturer's lines, if you know of more, please reply. My goal is...

    LTT Ratcheting Screwdriver

I'd like to see this used for mechanical/automotive. If it can stand up to that, then it should last for PC building and repair. Also backdrag really matters when working with computers, as there are lots of tiny screws that cannot take much torque, or things break.

    Who makes good garden hose?

This and the previous 2010's Craftsman line (apparently they still exist, from other posts!) are 99% identical, same rubber just slightly different hose connectors. They're both heavy duty, however the rubber will rub off onto your hands, and won't come off with washing. They're also heavy and...

    LED Mini Flood Light flickering

It may seem to be a silly question, but what kind of flickering is it? Is it constant flickering, or just one short flicker for a tenth of a second, etc?

    Milwaukee M18 2703-20 drill

Milwaukee M18 2703-20 drill - SOLD Edit: This has been SOLD! I'm clearing out my tools to make room for more tools. For sale is a Milwaukee 2703-20 drill, tool-only, in box with handle and manual. I tried it out with a battery to make sure it works, and never used it since. This is NOT the...

    Tools from the old world

Who is the OEM on that #4 Phillips screwdriver? There seem to be many rebrands of that handle shape, who makes the original? I don't see that type in Facom's current catalog.

Brands and items worth buying in Toronto?

There's a few places to check out. On Queen street, try Jacob's Hardware and Transcontinental Tool Co. In the greater area are a few other shops as well. Toronto has a great metro system too.

    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

Thank you. Hopefully it's at least as powerful as current models.

    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

So where's those new smaller M12 drill and driver? Weren't they supposed to be out in December? Apologies if it's been mentioned, I don't follow every page in this thread.

Sick of Motors and HP ratings

Yes, when talking about motors the amp rating is full load current. Motors can draw more than full load current when overloaded, but this means that it will overheat very quickly. The higher the amp rating the more powerful the motor. For drills a low amp rating means it's not that powerful...
