    Socket Extension Organization

This is what I've done with mine, although this layout is in a 48x22 shallow drawer with my ratchets on the other side, so I have a little room to spread out

Those Ernst trays waste a lot of space, IMHO. Slip the blue and red rails out of the black trays, and set them up "vertically" like you have with the gray rails. The adapters, swivels, and short extensions in the four-hole HF tray can go upright on another rail. You also have a lot of open space...

What is that numbered dial for on a drill/driver ?

Hammer drill.... combination tool designed for driving nails. Drill a pilot hole with the pointy end, center nail over drilled hole. Flip tool over and pound the **** out of the nail with the blunt end.

OK, I may have to change my name to Makita Man!

I have actually used the 9.6v stick batteries in my 12v "pod" tools on a couple of occasions to finish up the last couple of screws on a job.... Slow and short-lived, but in a REAL pinch, it's gotten the job done!!!! (Obviously can't get the "pod" battery into the 9.6 tools, but vice-versa...

    Oxy/Acetylene Torch Primers?

Holy hell, that's cheap..... I was looking at my local CC, and it's more like $600 each for these courses..... and they only offer them as part of a certificate program. Can't just take "welding 101" a la carte... they want you signed up for the whole curriculum!

OK, I may have to change my name to Makita Man!

Well, then, you probably NEED my old 9.6v right angle drill.... I replaced it recently with a 20V DeWalt, and it's been sitting in my bottom drawer ever since. I believe there are 4 or 6 batteries in there, too. PM me, depending on shipping, it might be worth a try?

Entry level price to do serious work

Hell, I accept new projects from the wife just so I can buy new tools.... I am currently building her a "choo-choo train" built on a golf cart chassis. She has a $6000 budget for the entire completed project (including the cart), I'm donating the free labor, and I'm paying for any new tools I...

What is this tool chest worth?

Well, it's at least 25 years old, since Dale's last year of MAC sponsorship was 1993. He jumped in bed with Snap-on in 1994. So maybe use the "vintage Earnhardt collectible" angle when you sell it..... As an aside, the Earnhardt movie "3" with Barry Pepper is full of inaccuracies, among them...

    Goodell-Pratt Company

My office manager just brought me a Goodell-Pratt eggbeater style hand drill.... so that is at least from 1931 or earlier? Any ballpark I can tell her it's worth?

    McMaster Carr.... shipping?

Well, I placed the order for 3 25-count boxes of M8 JIS flange head bolts (35, 40, and 50mm). They were shipped from two locations, for a shipping total of $12.79. Worked out to about 52 cents per bolt after tax and shipping, and they will be here next day. Can't complain about that! Thanks for...

    McMaster Carr.... shipping?

Cool, sounds like they're reasonable, even if they don't give you an up-front total... Thanks!

    McMaster Carr.... shipping?

Hi all, Everyone here seems to like McMaster Carr for their fastener needs, but how are their shipping charges? I was looking at some metric bolts, and their price and package quantities are very appealing. Created an account, went through the motions, and they do not disclose shipping charges...

    Family name stone placement

THANK YOU!!! I gave my wife one of these (but smaller) as a wedding gift (literally giving her my last name, cute, eh?). Well, the day of the wedding, I went to pick it up, and sure enough "The Daytons" (as requested) had a big ol' apostrophe in it.... The guy argued that "we always do it that...

    Show your new tool arrivals

I dunno, looks on par with some of the stuff they've been offering the past few years..... but on the bright side, you can probably use DeWalt batteries in that drill
