Hello everyone. I just became an administrator of an estate. I'm not tool savvy at all, and my Dad has a garage full of tools and other gadgets. One of said items is a tool chest. This tool chest is model MB 8250, I think. I have a few pictures. I was wondering how much it is worth and what is the best way to sell it?

Greatly appreciate any help received.
Thanks.

The contents likely have a higher value than the box. I recommend you search eBay to find what others have gotten for that box and it's contents.

It's a Mac Tools box, some kind of Dale Earnhardt series. Pics of the tools would be helpful in establishing quantity/quality.

In my area that box would go for 500 but a Race fan may pay more.

I'm located in Atlanta Georgia. The box has mostly junk in it. I can take pictures tonight. Most of the tools are strewn about the garage. Doesn't seem like most are name brand.

All 3 boxes I would say over 1,000. The top box is a road chest and the bottom and side cabinet were expensive when new. I think those all cane roller bearing too now friction slides. Those boxes were built when Mac was building boxes out of heavy gauge steel. IMO those were built better than snap on at that time

Don't ask.

I agree that's in the ballpark for an asking price. I probably wouldn't pay that but a Nascar fan might.

Well, it's at least 25 years old, since Dale's last year of MAC sponsorship was 1993. He jumped in bed with Snap-on in 1994. So maybe use the "vintage Earnhardt collectible" angle when you sell it.....

As an aside, the Earnhardt movie "3" with Barry Pepper is full of inaccuracies, among them, the scene in which they unveil Dale's first black Goodwrench Monte Carlo in 1988. The correct MAC sponsorship decals are plain as day on the car...... but the entire shop is full of Snap-on toolboxes..... six years too early!

Or, lock the boxes (with the **** tools in them), toss the keys, and advertise it as a "mystery lot" full of unknown tools..... (JK, that's a ****** thing to do... even to an Earnhardt fan)
