I ordered my Eagle MTP-11A about two weeks ago. It delivered last week and I was overwhelmed with the weight. The sales rep at Eagle said my Kubota could get it off the truck but the front bucket couldn't even lift it a bit off the ground. It took lots of luck and tugging with my wife's Jeep to...
Santa might be getting me a lift for Christmas. I'm pretty sure its a 2-post, around 9ton lifting capacity. I am just a hobbyist and probably the biggest thing I will lift is a 1/2 or 3/4 ton truck. I have a 12 foot ceiling in the garage and 6 inches of concrete underneath the bay that will have...
I worked for a company called Cabletron. Two guys started the company in their garage cutting ethernet cable and selling to those who could not afford to buy the whole roll. This was the only way to buy it in the beginning. These guys invented the LED activity light on hubs and its something we...

I measured the joints they cut in the foor of my garage and they are about 3/16" wide and about 1.5" deep. Looking for backer rods the smallest I see are 3/8". Do I need backer rods for that small of a crack? Any brand name suggestions on what you guys are using to fill the cracks? I haven't...
Just confirmed with the garage door subcontractor that I am getting Liftmaster 3800's on all three doors. I think he already had one planned for the 10ft door on the back of the garage. Sweet!
I'm excited!!

thanks again for the suggestions. I'm doing best to combat my builder's shoot-ready-aim mentality on some of these abby normal items. I'm sure it will come down to a simple matter of money to get it fixed.

thanks guys!! I am hoping I can talk to the garage people before too long. Now I have a better idea what to suggest when I talk to them.
thanks again!

thanks for the quick reply koditten... did you need to do anything special with the motor or are you using a regular door opener motor?
I was reading that you might need a stronger motor if you are lifting the door straight up for a longer distance than normal.
thanks!

I'm in the process of building a new house and detached garage. The builder does good work but he has the occasional lack of vision (due to saving money). The ceiling in my detached garage is 12 feet high. I'm planning on installing a lift in one bay. The front 3 garage doors are normal sized...
