Is this where the magic smoke comes from?

If it is just blackish, the wire probably just got wet at some time, no big deal. If the wire has a goldish appearance it may have been overloaded and then overheated. Overloading will also make the insulation brittle. Just make sure it is not powering a load that is too much for the wire...

Not sure what it is. But it is supposed to be there. They are fine. I see them like that all the time. Never cared to find out what it was. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This is a picture of the hydraulic ram on a scissor lift at work. The lines running parallel are reflections of the lights. The ram looks shiny from a distance, but if you look close you can see it is not totally smooth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

One benefit of this rebuild, I had a broken power washer, that is now unbroken, and works pretty good. Chris

Reassembled pump today. Powerwashed and scrubbed most parts. Really tempted to just put it back together use it. Went this far, feel like I have to paint it now. Think I could have bought a new one by now. Chris

Ran out to take a picture before taking kids to lacrosse. The seals are in the same order, just leather seals are soaking so not in photos. The two photos are for size comparison to the original(bottom) Chris

The second from the right, top is the extra one? The original is rubberish and approximately the same size as the second from the right , top. The far right is hard plastic and slightly smaller than original. I thought the far right, top was extra. Chris

Worked on the valve seats last night. I read somewhere about gluing the ball valve to sticks or something but couldn't find the post. Thought I would tell you what I did. I had a small piece of tubing that I chamfered the edges on. I then used thin double stick, foam tape to attach the...

Made up some mandrels and a custom anti-contamination stand. I used 400 wet dry paper. Apparently a 2 inch mandrel doesn't like having a 1/2 inch shaft. I'm happy with the result. Definitely knocked down the roughness from the cylinder hone. I think the stones on mine may be more like 240...

    Walker 93632 Jack Rebuild

Hi! Spent the weekend reading about cylinder finishes and now I feel I have to do more work on my sealing surfaces. Just got seal kit today. Is it normal to have extra parts and not enough parts? I have 1 extra ball valve, a couple extra plastic washers that don't fit anywhere, a rubber...

I bought my cylinder hone at Sears because I was returning a broken 1/2 to 3/8 adapter and saw it for $12 on the clearance rack. I do thank you guys for the help. Everybody relax, it's Friday. I know you all are just trying to help. Thank you. I'm going out to hone my cylinder @ 88...

I check out the brush link. They are pretty cool. I don't know what grit the stone are. I bought a Gear wrench brake cylinder hone at Sears. It doesn't list the grit. There are two part # stones one for discs and one for drums??. My phone's camera actually takes pretty good pictures. It...

Whoa. Hey guys! Just got in. So I'm probably going to piss someone else off soon. Can't wait to hear what you guys think of this. I couldn't get the main ram chucked in my 1/2 inch drill press so I thought I would take it to work and spin it in the plumbers pipe threading machine during...
