    4 post lift fail safe

I have a 4 post lift and would like to make a fail safe stop switch to prevent the vehicle from hitting the ceiling. I was think something could be made using garage door safety eyes. Does anyone have an idea how to do this? The lift motor is 220v. Is there anything already pre-made to do this?

Mini Split AC lines ran in wall of pole barn

Does anyone see a reason why I shouldn't run the AC and Drain lines from a mini split inside the walls of a pole barn? It is metal outside with insulated walls. I don't like the look of the lines running down the outside wall. I just have to take the plywood off the wall to install it. Any...

Maximum pullout weight attached to plywood

I'm just looking for storage. I can't imagine I would get more that 30-40 lbs sq. ft. but You know how that goes. I'm just trying to get a general idea of how much a 18-24" shelf with supports make out of 2x4's in a triangular configuration will hold if screwed into the plywood only.

This is a 12' tall pole barn with 8' on center poles. There are horizontal 2x4's between the poles. The plywood is placed longways between the poles. The sheets are screwed top and bottom to the 2x4's. I want to mount shelving around the top 3'. The brackets will be screws into the middle of the...

Maximum pullout weight attached to plywood

Does anybody know what kind of load can be placed on a shelf that is screwed to 3/4" plywood. There are no studs in the center of the plywood where the shelf would be attached. What kind of screws would resist pull out the best?

Water proof floor to wall material

I was thinking around 6" tall. I'm not going to be going crazy with the garden hose, I just don't want water seeping under the wall and possibly getting up into the insulation. I was going to leave a small gap between the insulation and the floor. I want something that will seal between the...

Water proof floor to wall material

I am building a 30x36 pole barn. I have a concrete floor. The walls will be insulated and covered with OSB or Plywood. I am looking for a material to transition between the concrete floor and wall material that is waterproof so that I can hose out the floor without having to worry about the...
