    Older craftsman Bandsaw

Thanks for the input guys, that's exactly what I needed to know. I'm just gonna keep my eyes open for a decent, metal specific saw.

    Older craftsman Bandsaw

So I picked up this older Craftsman 12" band saw, part # 113 2420 at an estate sale. Got it for thirty bucks, and other than a broken knob (already repaired) it's just an about pristine. It has a 1/4 6 TPI wood cutting blade on it now, but is like to slow it down a bit and give it a 16 TPI...

    Taiwanese drill presses

Well, just my total chance this guy showed up at my work... The customer sold it to us for scrap and I bought it for the current shred (dirty steel) value, which is .05 cents a pound, which worked out to three dollars and eighty five cents. Sometimes I feel guilty but most of the time, I'm...

    Taiwanese drill presses

So I'm shopping/searching for a drill press and I'm kind of shocked by the proliferation of Taiwanese drill presses. I'm looking for a vintage Craftsman, it this is all I'm finding. Is there any of the Taiwanese stuff that's worth a damn? Thanks

Mac Tool 9000 series bottom box connectors

Back in the day when everyone still used a traditional top and bottom box combo but big bottom chests were just starting to catch on, Mac made a set of brackets so you could join two 9000 series bottom boxes and essentially create your own "taco stand" style box. I finally found a second 9000...

    Another Vice rescue...

It's 90% dirt I've already knocked a ton of it out.

    Another Vice rescue...

I fear this one is taking a nice, long dip in the apple cider vinegar.... She's crusty.

    Another Vice rescue...

Pulled this one from a crate of junk that got dropped off today. Haven't researched it at all yet, figured I'd give her a bath first.

Not "technically" a tool, but pretty cool...

After disassembly, a thorough soap and water cleaning and clay barring of the over spray that seemed to be everywhere. The reflector got one shot with a good cleaner/polish. I need to replace the actual bulb socket, as the center contact is broken off. It looks pretty basic and similar to a...

Not "technically" a tool, but pretty cool...

Exactly. You've a good eye, as I had to do a ton of research just to know what it was...

Not "technically" a tool, but pretty cool...

I realize this isn't a proper tool per say, but this is the only group I'm in that realy appreciates neat old stuff being saved from destruction... In my daily perusing of our retail dock I find this amazing, vintage search light that someone turned in. I quickly snag it up, pay the scale...

    Back with another rescued Vice...

Well, I still need to find some jaws for it, but I got it stripped and painted. I think it turned out ok. A darker color would have made the bare metal portions pop a bit more, but I figured I'd do something a little different with the GM charcoal metallic grey this time.

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

I owned that box. It was my first Mac combo and I bought her new in 88 as well. Unfortunately, that one was stolen out of a storage in 91, but has since been replaced with her non anniversary twin.

    Weird Vice...

That would make sense, I've always seen them with a square shaft, so it threw me off.

    Weird Vice...

SO I saved this little Columbian the other day and it's a typical 43 1/2 model, except for this part, that I can't seem to find a pic of anywhere... Any thoughts as to what it's for?
