Tearing apart my Rockwell DP. Poor man lathe and reverse electrolysis

If you open up the spring you might find that just one of the ends snapped off. Bend a new end and wind it up again.

And this is where she stays. Had to move it in pieces to get it on the stand by myself. Damn heavy!

I can wait. Thank you very much! Any pics by and on rulers will help a great deal!

I'll find a bit better hardware for the arm hinges but other than a wire good to go!

No worries. I have patience. I'll find the info sooner or later. Till then I'll use my slightly larger version. I won't be posting the files till it is right though. I don't want to dilute the gene pool of lighting with off size reproductions!

These came in a stand up floor model and a short benchtop model like this. It was not cut down. They can also be mounted upside down and bolted to the ceiling! Just flip the head and table! My retirement lamp seems a bit oversized the more I look at it. I don't suppose you have one and a ruler...

Places like Shapeways can print objects in metal. But again... budget. I might upload the file just to see what it would cost. Get a quote. $$$

It's like anything. You want a skill you learn it. I'm kinda glad I don't have the budget for everything that crosses my mind but sometimes time is in short supply as well. One reproduction retirement lamp. Six dollar socket and a dollar in plastic. Pardon the strange 3D printer. When I built it...

Lamp under way. Found a few good pics. Copied the curves. Used the distance between the prongs of an electrical plug in the pic as a size reference.

Thank you! I wanted a very clean look. Like it belonged in a fifties operating room or on a kitchen counter. It will not have a hard life here for sure. More of a show piece than a tool but fully functional. I really like how the white turned out!

Took a little work but worth the effort. I really enjoyed this. If anyone has measurements for a retirement light I hope to reproduce one soon.

Got my new Decal today. Slightly off size and color but perfect is the enemy of finished right?

If anyone would be kind enough to post a bunch of measurements and photos here of a retirement lamp and it's mounting arm and pivot I will make the 3D files available for free for anyone to download. You can 3D print it yourself at home or have a 3rd party service like Shapeways print one for...
