Help identifying a room-in-attic truss design - What's it called so I can search it?

For anyone else looking, I found exactly what I was looking for in this Sketchup plugin discussion. This is what I believe is behind the drywall in the apartment pictures above! It even goes into a discussion about continuous lateral bracing for a 2-piece truss design. Looking at the attic...

Help identifying a room-in-attic truss design - What's it called so I can search it?

I got some pics of the apartment attic space: This is looking at the end wall with the split A/C And looking 180 degrees the other way:

Help identifying a room-in-attic truss design - What's it called so I can search it?

Here's another shot from the bottom - Looking at the line set for the split A/C, it doesn't appear that it's "full width" after all, when compared to the inside pic. But it sure is a lot wider than the trusses in TurnipTruck's pic. I think Jives is correct. Is there a modified scissor truss with...

Help identifying a room-in-attic truss design - What's it called so I can search it?

I've been working on a shop design in my head for years. I'd like a room-in-attic design. I recently stayed at the in-law's place, and they have a shop with an apartment over it. This is the first time I've ever seen a full-width room in a truss! It looks like they have a 5 foot heel. Anyway...

Grading near septic? The yard drains into the foundation.

To be clear: I want to grade near the tank, not over it. I don't want to change the grade at the tank or the house. The septic lids and the house are near the same grade. There's just a hump between them, that creates a fall into the foundation. Building up at the foundation would both force...

Grading near septic? The yard drains into the foundation.

That would be my preference. But the covers of the tank and the grade at the foundation are about the same elevation. Scraping to that level would result in a "flat" area. Obviously with some relief down the center to direct water away from both septic and the house. Simply filling at the...

Grading near septic? The yard drains into the foundation.

I bought a house in the country in November. With the nicer weather I've been walking around the property building "the list". I've noticed that the yard slopes into the house. The issue is that the septic tank is about 20' from the house on that side. There's probably an 18" "hill" between the...

    Network outlets....hdmi...speakers....etc....HELP

Conduit. Period. Ask this question 20 years ago and the answer was a Cat3 and RG59. 15 years ago it was Cat5, RG6 and maybe VGA. Now it's Cat6 and HDMI. 15 years from now, some other tech is going to replace whatever you install today. Fiber, maybe? By the way, Cat8 cable was ratified in 2016...

Big Maxx horizontal vent slope questions

Wouldn't the 10000 BTU running out the vent prevent that?

Big Maxx horizontal vent slope questions

I figured as much! Just looking for confirmation I guess... Still curious why they call for condensate to run into the building, though

Big Maxx horizontal vent slope questions

Long time lurker, first post. I'm adding a Big Maxx heater to my garage. I have 2 questions I haven't found an answer to: 1) The manual calls for the CatIII vent to slope inside with a drain tee. Why? Can it slope outside and just drip condensate on the ground? - Minimum vent length is 3'. I'm...
