Vice, I was so flustered I pushed post before I should have! You deserve a hardy GarageJounral “You ****!” for that asking price alone (god knows what you actually paid)!

Great Job Wilson. It looks great considering where you started. So many of them are in a similar, or worse, condition. Like Frank Lee says "another diamond in the rough". I was out looking at a Craftsman table saw on OfferUp that the owner couldn't tell me too much about, said it was surrounded...

    Rotary lift cylinders leaking SPOA7 - 100

Glad you got your lift back into operation. The shop did well getting them back to you in twenty-four hours. $400 including labor seems about what I was quoted. Some said they got them done for as little as $150.00. Not in South Florida! My lift is just for a hobby shop. Its just holding up a...

Tools that were my grandfathers... identification?

Interesting line of hand tools. Those ignition wrenches are wild looking. I was cleaning out my Dads garage getting ready to sell the house and came across this drill, OF COURSE I googled it and GJ was the second hit from the top! (the first one was unrelated) People here have already seen and...

I have been investigating some of the paint colors of grey mentioned here after removing the black paint the PO had installed on my 12 1/2 1946 100. Some spots of the black had to sanded off. I was looking at what I think is the original grey paint on the underside of the base. I made some test...

I feel the same way about Craftsman. Wish they would make stuff in America again but, the cost would be silly I'm sure. A new logo would be welcome but, it would have to have to acknowledge the log history as you say I originally got interested in restoring the shiny power hand tools...

Hoorn, Although that appears to be another catalog error, saw a similar one on a Mohawk. The question is not did they but, why didn't they? I think it looks great. May start looking for a decal the right size and put it on the table of my 46 benchtop DP. I'm kinda partial to it but, then again...

Hoorn, My power bronze 1957 100 floor model has June 57 stamped into the motor plate and iron motor caps that are also bronze. The a fixed table and fixed motor mount all seem to zero it as a 57. Rare? Frankly, only the master knows. In the rare department, although it was not a 100...

The table was tougher. The base came right off after the third attempt with the 12lb convincer. Long C Craftsman motor plate is stamped J3 46. What do you think? Looks like pre 1950 to me. See anything else to date it earlier, to 1946?

Located an 103.23120 model 80 that I'm going back and forth on refurbishing or parting out. Thanks to Bob and Naples, FL. It belonged to his uncle Oscar who had it in a barn. After Oscar passed away Bob used the press to drill out the barrels of custom ball point pens he makes by hand out of...

Bro, What is the date code on the motor plate? I can't make it out. Frank, Cruz, Have you guys seen motor bands that were painted bronze like this one? I've only seen the ones with the turned (sublimated?) stripes.
