    Zoro Deals Thread

I doubt it was purposeful - Zoro stocks an incredible number of items so I'd chalk it up to an error. They offer free shipping at just $50, which I also think is quite generous with shipping rates these days.

    Snap On Warranty

Those Cornwell hammers look really nice. How does the grip compare with Snap-on’s in terms of comfort and actual grip? I buy the Snap-on hammers because they’re so comfortable to use and easy to grip compared to…just about everything else. Even those that have copied the grip’s aesthetic seem...

Who Makes Deep Sockets with External Hex Flats

Pelican and Turner are both owned by ECS now - so they're all the same. FCP Euro is a good competitor option (best warranty / guarantee anywhere), as is USP Motorsport for parts pricing on OE parts.

Anti Seize on McPherson Strut Assembly, Knuckle Pinch Type

BMW uses the same setup on their cars - I've never used antiseize on these as it tends to be a cast part clamping over a painted strut. On BMW, after loosening the nut, you'll use a spreader to open the knuckle slightly and then you can usually slide the knuckle off the strut without too much...

    Stubby 14mm / 17mm hex keys

To me this is the perfect application for Astro's stubby sockets and their corresponding ratchets (or the Matco if a reverse switch is needed). Granted, that is more tools but they've been incredibly helpful to me and I've now got them in Torx, eTorx, 6 point sockets, etc.

    Shallowest Pass-Through Socket Set?

BMW does a good job of this. Sadly the aftermarket end links I usually end up using never have real wrench flats. I haven't used those pliers, but the 9" Bremen long nose locking plier from HF is good for this and has a 1/4" square drive on the thumb screw to really clamp it down. I've also...

    Shallowest Pass-Through Socket Set?

BMW and many Euro brands have wrench flats. Even if there is just a completely round backing, that is exactly why you would use long nose vise grips.

    Shallowest Pass-Through Socket Set?

@YoshiMoshi3 You are making all of your basic maintenance projects much more complicated than they need to be. Impact the nut off - you aren't going to damage the end link. You can likely hold the back of the end link with a pair of long nose vise grips if needed - most of them have a flange of...

Dewalt customer service. I get better help from the cat.

It's rare to find good, human based service these days where the people working are empowered to solve problems. I try to spend my money with brands / businesses that believe in service. Milwaukee's CS isn't exactly earth shattering but I have gotten responses that resolved my issues, FWIW.

Socket Foam - Most Space Efficient?

What I'm looking for is a combo of density and quick retrieval. Foam seems like the best blend between these two goals. I know I could cram everything in super tight (which is what I have now) but it's a pain to find everything and put it back. Vertically stored sockets make sense to me if it's...

I finally found an 8mm wrench more expensive than Snap-on

ToolMD is one of those accounts I always see trying to sell stuff for more than retail. This one is more expensive than the wrench alone + Snap-on's shipping charge for orders under $250 would be...so I can't figure that one out.

Socket Foam - Most Space Efficient?

The Snap-on foam organizers for sockets aren't very different in terms of space efficiency than the Tekton or Olsa rails - possibly a bit better than the Tekton. VIM is definitely more efficient - and was what I was leaning towards but curious if I can get foam configured how I'd like it...

Socket Foam - Most Space Efficient?

I'm looking for the most space efficient method of storing my sockets. As much as I like Snap-on's magnetic holders, they leave too much free space. I don't love traditional socket rails, find them annoying. Could go the VIM Mag Rail route...but maybe there is something else. Snap-on's foam...
