Clear Garage Floor Mats for Epoxy and Tile Floors

My shop has VCT in one portion and epoxy in one half. I have one of these mats(albiet not clear) between the lift posts in my work bay. My personal opinion: With the VCT you can only pick your poison. There is nothing you can do to prevent marks on the floor. If you park on the tiles, it...

    New Shop Construction

I am also in Baton Rouge. Rain has been tough, but everyone seems to be working around it. My rear yard is a large size mess, made much worse by the rain.

    New Shop Construction

The new shop construction is progressing nicely. I posted first about one month ago, just after pouring the slab. We are building about 2300 square feet in the rear yard. The family gets a new pool, and I get a place to stay. Front exterior, about two weeks ago. pool forming in the...

Did a 10' ceiling keep you from the lift you wanted? 10 w/ cathedral ceiling?

Might wish to visit your favorite manafacturer's web site. Requirements could vary by model. My rotary requires 12'. They make other models with different requirements. 12' is good for most applications.

Wolverine to Suspend DIY Sales March 1

I hear ya. I first contacted Woolverine as instructed via this site in late Jan. On Feb 1 I received a email that Bill would contact me soon. He never did contact me, guess I know why now. I was encouraged by all the posts on this site touting their product, but will have to put something...

    air line installation

used threaded iron pipe in my last shop. I put a temporary plug or cap after each threaded joint and then leak tested each joint before moving downstream to the next joint, a little extra work, but I did not have to take anything apart later to repair a leak. Use a thread sealer and get it...

    2 post lift questions

I have a two post and would never consider not having one. I rarely use my jack/jack stands. The lift was easily $ well spent. If you are crawling under cars for any longer than ten minutes then when you get a lift it will be one of those...well, dugh moments and you will ask yourself why you...

    My MI garage

Mike Rotary offers a two post lift for 10' ceiling height applications. In addition the profile of their standard lifts are such that it could be placed between your trusses. I know of one instance where this was done.

    New Shop Construction

The new shop is framed up. Framing began on Wed of last week and will probably be completed tomorrow. I guess the roofing will be followed by brick, electrical, A/C.

    New Shop Construction

Banners originated from woodward dream cruise posters. Had a local sign shop make the banners. They hide a mezzanine type of thing. I will try to find a few pics of the cars.

    New Shop Construction

The black/white tile in the old shop is vinyl. I would rate it as satisfactory, but less than ideal. Tires will stain the wax topcoat so a pad or an extra tile under each tire is required. A hot engine can make the glue release and the tile buckle. I plan to put terrazo in the "showroom"...

Just recently found this site while planning my new backyard shop. Lots of good stuff shared here. I like just about any old car and when I get more free time hope to restore a few.

    New Shop Construction

This is my present shop, it serves me well, but is a significant commute from my home, so I am not able to spend much time there. http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj90/plasticsgwc/DSC00138.jpg http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj90/plasticsgwc/DSC00127.jpg Here are some shots of the new...
