Need Help Purchasing a Tool Cabinet

If the diamond plate is your thing, the gladiator boxes ive seen at sears seem pretty solid. Deep drawers, rubber bumpers, nice casters. Plus, it ties in with the rest of your garage. I say, go for it.

    Any BIG Truck techs here?

I know this may sound preachy, but lots of my friends are rig techs, and the one thing that you gotta do is protect your back and knees. I know two guys in the biz, and 6 years in they have both had knee surgeries, back surgeries. My cousin made it 20 years, and he had to retire - he couldn't do...

need a new multimeter for work

Lots of good meters mentioned here. BUT, many of them are not "true RMS." If you want to follow the GM guidelines and use a "True RMS" multimeter, then you might want to look at the Craftsman Professional. Its a rebrand of an extech model. It has auto ranging and min/max. Its even on sale...

Snap On Won't Let Me Buy From Franchisee

Easiest thing - swing by your local dealership/repair shop. Ask the service guy if he has any of the rep's cards. Chances are, they will be happy to point you in the right direction.

    Need strut spring compressors recommendations

Do yourself a huge favor. Just buy quick-struts or some other ready-to-install struts. Easier, safer, faster. You will thank yourself. Compressing strut springs...:shocking:

The Complete set of Craftsman Catalogs

:dunno:I am no lawyer...but I would think that making money on catalogs created by SEARS AND ROEBUCK would be a violation of some kind of law.

Is an Air Compressor for Home Use Necessary?

An air compressor is a very handy tool...but I haven't rotated my own tires in years. I always buy mine with free rotate and balance :rocker:

    Wrenching beginner!

In my experience of wrenching on things around the house...you will never use 90% of the sockets in that 176pc set. Buy a small set of 3/8 and 1/4 metric. A few common sizes of SAE (I know that honda only has metric and I bet that grand am and the ford are 80%+ metric). Its been a while since...

    Lowes stocking nearly every socket

That 227 piece set was on sale for like 99 bucks at Christmas. Watch it on Memorial Day...if it is not on sale then, wait till Father's day. You can definitely get a good deal on it.

    Lowes stocking nearly every socket

Nothing wrong with that, walwalka. Take more pride in the work you do than the tools you do it with. Thats what matters. Them bolts don't know whats written on your wrench.

    My absurd Craftsman screwdriver

    Toolbox recommendation needed.

@alan camby - I was thinking about the extreme tools box, but I was wondering about that huge label on the bottom left...is it glued on, riveted on, what? Do you think it could it be removed without making a huge mess? Love the looks of the box, just not crazy about the label...(no offense...
