What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Got my WC53 back on terra-firma... The front struts were out for rebuild for over a month, finally got those back and installed; among a litany of other little rework items. Oh, yea brand new windshield, and a new frame even because the local glass shop destroyed my original 1942 one trying to...

    Show us your welding projects

Steering damper bracket for the old Dodge truck. As much as I didn't want the look of one on the truck, the feedback fatigue from the crossover steering setup and how tight everything is made me go ahead and give it a shot. I was limited on clearance at the front axle cover so this was my...

    Show us your welding projects

Aye, I turned 40 and this was my "midlife crisis" buy. Some people buy fast cars, but I figured this was more useful and fun in its own way. 2024 Bobcat E48, Long Arm, Extra Counterweight, Angle Blade, Deluxe Package Closed ROPS w/ every option except for the backup camera and extra PTO leads...

^ Worked like a charm pushing in all of these metal posts.

    Show us your welding projects

Going to be helping a friend expand his vineyard this weekend by pushing in over 1,000 metal trellis posts. I could use the bucket heel but decided to throw together an Xchange adapter that can later get turned into something else, or just stay as is in case I end up helping with any other fence...

    Looking at subcompact/compact tractors.

I found my people... I've got a '24 model Bobcat E48, a '23 JD 325G, high flow, fully spec'd, and an '01 Bobcat T190 OROPs just as toys / property maintenance / hobby things. I could have bought myself a fast car for my 40th Birthday, but a new Excavator seemed more functional and less...

cutting sheet metal sheet with a circular saw and a jig

Speed depends on how the saw is consuming the material. The M18 saw has an LED on top of the handle that flickers if you are loading the blade too much and should slow down. I run just at that edge. Too slow and you put heat into the blade. With Carbide, the chips carry away the heat while...

A couple of one-off from friends

There is a similar machine still buried in the same container that this track torch came out of and I am trying to aquire it.

A couple of one-off from friends

I ended up with a Cut-O-Matic out of an old shipping container earlier this year. Messed with it some and got it up and running. Built a track for it and got to use it this weekend to rip some 1/2" and 5/8" steel plate. Worked great! I may end up making an attachment to run my plasma torch on...

WANTED: National Cylinder Gas / Rexnor Torch Nozzles

Hello all. I have an old NCG Track torch that I am looking for some torch nozzles / tips for. KX labeled sizes are ideal. Rexnor is another brand that made tips that interchange. They are often labeled KX-52 or something like that. Theres a handful on ebay and one seller has a lot of them...

    Simple Prototyping with a laser...

I've done this a number of times with thin gauge sheet metal on my plasma table, especially when needing to verify something that a someone else "dimensioned".

Funky Short Chains - Design Intent?

They are even more useful when there is a chain hook on the same link as the slip hook, that way you can adjust the leg lengths for an unbalanced / odd mounting point lift.

cutting sheet metal sheet with a circular saw and a jig

I'm glad y'all are having good luck with the Diablo blades, I have not; maybe they were clones or a bad batch. I have the 8" Milwaukee M18 Circular metal cutting saw and have had very poor luck with the Diablo blades in comparison to the Milwaukee and even the EVO ones. I know that the EVO saw...

How do you haul your welding bottles ?

Thank you. On the smaller diameter ones, where the straps aren't applying any downward force, I will set a 6x6 under the neck / cap shoulder so that its still getting pulled downward on.

How do you haul your welding bottles ?

After a surgery, I was on lifting restriction but my 300 Argon ran out on my TIG and I needed to get it swapped... so I made a machine do the lifting. The guys at the LWS were kind enough to unload and load for me. I've been hauling bottles strapped like this for years now and never had one...
