Those particular Boxford lathes were very precise toolroom lathes. According to Tony Griffith's machine tool archive, the standard color scheme was white with yellow accents. The more appropriate RAL green was an option.

drivesitfar.....You may already know this but just in case.... you have to wipe off all excess BLO or it will become a sticky mess. And any BLO soaked rags can spontaneously combust if not disposed of properly. I put mine in a plastic bag with water or burn them.

Bogdan, the new paint scheme is really looking nice! I think that green and grey are the two most common machinery colors (and for good reason), but it seems to me that I have seen the green used in Europe more than in the US.

ARFLY, you have accomplished a lot even if it isn't in the shop. I really like the office. Lots of storage and I like the floating top. How is it supported? I imagine you will be happy when all of the painting is finished!
