Ok, dumb question, but what 9 different greases do you have perpetually loaded?

I'm not as old as you, but I'd leave them be. The sizing looks perfect to me. Still enough of a boarder around it but very readable. Id leave it be.

I think it really depends what you want to do. I THOUGHT I'd really want to print big stuff frequently. What I've discovered is I'm MUCH more likely to print smaller, intricate parts and then combine them with something easier to work with - plywood, lumber, aluminum, etc. Mix the media as it...

THIS is actually pretty awesome/huge. I don't print any of the really stinky/potentially hazardous stuff like ASA and ABS, but having that venting is a great idea. I'm currently working on an enclosure for my printer that will create a negative pressure inside the enclosure have a couple...

Honestly, I think the learning curve for you would be pretty shallow. I hemmed and hawed for a while before getting one a little over a year ago but it's been fantastic. There is SO MUCH that is readily available on Printables/Thingiverse/other places that there is a lot of playing and...

    PPE/Earmuff storage ideas wanted

Hi gang, Looking for any ideas you have for storing PPE - ear muffs, face shields, etc. I currently have them in a drawer in a lateral filing cabinet in the garage, which works ok, but is less than ideal. I've thought about hanging them on hooks on the wall, but that could take up a fair bit...

Just show him some of the videos of the Japanese planing competitions to see who can make the thinnest shaving. That seems like something up his alley :D

Gregor, First of all, props to Nadia! That house is AWESOME. Girl's got skills and ideas. Apparently she's picked up some ideas via osmosis from your friendship with Ben :D. Second, I'm excited for you. I'm sure you would have preferred a different outcome to the last several months/year...

Strouty, I think you are absolutely on the right track. I have to ask myself all the time "how much is my time worth?". The answer, more often than not is it's worth more to me than whatever the cost is. Keep going, I think a good dd and nicer, not problematic trailers is the way to go.

I'd go a step further - it's mechanical inquisitiveness/curiosity. Watches, firearms, cameras, fans, motorcycles, machinery, adventure van, audio equipment, it's all got a "gee wiz, how's that work?" vibe to it. I'll admit I feel the same way - it's all cool stuff and I want to know how it...

Gregor, It was meant purely in jest and I never interpret anything you do as you showing off/demonstrating superiority/etc. I am truly in awe of all the things you know and can accomplish to a very high level. I like to think of myself as knowing a reasonable amount about a decently wide...

At this point somebody needs to make a video with clips/photos of Gregor and the song "Anything You can Do I Can do Better" but change the words to "Anything you can do Gregor can do better" playing in the background. Let's see: 1. Welding - Gregor can do better than me 2. Ride a motorcycle -...

Rust IS oxidation, so you're trying to oxidize something that is already oxidized when you're torching the rust. Think of it this way - when using an oxyacetylene torch you're taking good metal and rapidly rusting it and then blowing it out of the way with the force of the gas. If its already...

Electrolysis is great. Trick for small parts - put them in a metal basket and connect your wire to the basket. As long as the part isn't crazy rusty it'll still work. You can get pretty creative with it - table saw tops in kiddie pools is a good one. I've seen people use the pallet sized...
